HI

Im half looking for a pup for my grandaughter and Im quite surprised at the differance in prices that people are asking , I rang a top breeder the other week , He judges and wins at Championship shows with his stock and has been in whippets for over 25 years and has 4 generations at home and he is asking £450. 00 regardless of sex ,

Now Im not saying your pups are inferior but you are asking $100.00 more and I cant remmber seeing any thing about your breeding / showing etc on the internet , How can you charge all this extra .? Do you have grandma and co for us to see ? Sorry if I appear a bit blunt , but thats how I am  Can you give a bit more about pedigree and stuff , have they been in the ring ?

We onl want one for a pet , maybe Hannah will show but as I said we are only looking at present

I agree that it seems a lot of money. I don't get all this extra money for bitches either :- "

I don't understand why a bitch would cost anymore either.

Out of interest, is this how it normally works?

these a both excellent bred pups and i think they priced right . your veiw

Yes, my view. Im not trying to be rude. I think that you would class my dog as being excellently bred and my bitches breeder has 4 generations living at home. I didn't pay anywhere near this for my two ;)

If you can get this much for them - good luck to you! There's a lot of nice puppies around at the moment. I sincerely hope you find good homes for all your pups.

No offence intended. :)

Not from anyone we've had a pup off Rach. A bitch costs no more to raise so i don't see why they should be any higher priced. IMO!!!!

i belive it is standard practise as bitches can be more valuable when they have pups

Do you want to be selling to somebody who just wants a bitch so they can have pups and make money from them (w00t) (w00t) (w00t) I wouldn't

Also, as i say, i've not come across it when i've bought mine nor has anyone in my family, so i wouldn't call it standard practise.

Oh right, I didn't know this was common practice with dogs.

My OH's Dad breeds alpaca's and it's the case with the females then but I think this is because they are a rare animal, which I think explains and justifies this.

I have just never come across this with the bitches that any of my friends or family have bought in the past.

Remeber Jo that some people only see ££££££££££££££££££,s when it comes to breeding & selling puppie's,so i suppose they would see a bitch puppy as being more valuable to it's prospective new owner as they would eventually have a nice litter from it & make lots of money!

NOT that i'm saying this is the case here,of course.

and can you just enlighten me Mat as to why one litter is more money than the other ? has one had better food . I was always told it costs the same to rear pedigrees as it does cross breeds , ( if you do it right that is_ )

Also I always thought K9 was a discussion forum and although we are discussing your litters , you dont appear to have posted anything else other than puppies for sale .

Ive found K9 very informative about my favourite breed and learnt so much from all the discussions and topics they have They feek like part of our family now and I feel as though I know some of the dogs as my own ( well nearly )

Will you be joining in discussions or just coming on when you have litters for sale ? :- "

Blunt again I know , thats the yorkshire in me

To be honest, i agree with bashful. It is somewhat annoying when people jump onto K9 to try and sell their pups but don't contribute at any other point.

Hope to see you on here abit more??? :)

Gorgeous puppies
the pups are kc reg and are from a show dog how has jst been made a champion they are 500 for a dog and 550 for a bitch from my best litter and 400 for a dog and 450 for bitch from my brindle litter .

How come your pups, are cheaper on epupz, and you put them on there before you advertised them on here?

Cor blimey ......I charged a mere £350 for my pups ......they went having re organised my house, met everything in the house and garden for socilisation, they were dew clawed by my vet who came to my house and were also vet checked ......they were ear tattooed and virtually house trained ........having 1 litter nearly killed me as they got me up through the night as they didn't want to mess in their pen, so I had to put them out .......I couldn't have coped with TWO litters at the same time (w00t) .......but then I guess my next litter in about 2 years time has 3 of my owners have already booked a pup and i'll keep the one or 2 as well .......2 litters at the same time starts alarm bells ringing, but thats just me ........ :luck: :luck: in finding them all good homes, prehaps you should have advertised the litters befor they were DUE so you had homes lined up !!!!! but again thats just me .......

I have only had 2 litters, this being my second, as I wanted something else for myself. I am charging the same for dogs and bitches and to me the home is the most important thing. Three of my last litter are being shown, one being mine. BUT, more important to me is that they are part of their owners family and very much loved. I agree, to raise a litter properly is very expensive and time consuming. My pups go on a contract that at any time in their life, if for some reason the owner has to part with them, they come back to me. I brought them into the world and feel it is my responsibility to ensure they have a happy, safe home. I have been very lucky, I have been able to keep in contact with all the pups and love to see how they are developing.
