Oh dear, well if you have made your decision why do you want to know if she will cope OK or not, it's totally immaterial.noopy_101 said:he said he will refer me its £150 to see the vet plus what ever the op will be, shes not insured. So going to have the eye removed as its the cheaper
Sorry to hear that Tracy..hope all goes well :huggles: My Mother had a dog with one eye then eventually completely blind, she was fine and adapted really well.noopy_101 said:my bitch has had a fight with one of my other dogs and the vet said he cant save the eye and is going to have to remove the eye. do whippet cope ok with one eye??
I agree. Surprisingly it takes a lot to loose an eye with regards to trauma in humans as they tend to be pretty resiliant. The biggest risk I can see is infection from the dogs saliva, however quick anti-biotic intervention would reduce this risk.whippetgood said:Dogs are very resilient they cope very well but is it not worth to cover every option before to remove the eye? i know its expensive but maybe you could make terms with the vet if he says he could save the eye and if its a no go then have the eye removed :- "
just an opinion :- "
I had a jackie who lost her eye. Due to her previous owners neglect. Didn,t bother her one bit. Except for the occasional startle the cat gave her by sneaking up on her. lol. She was more comfortable and happier than she had been for years..noopy_101 said:my bitch has had a fight with one of my other dogs and the vet said he cant save the eye and is going to have to remove the eye. do whippet cope ok with one eye??
