Scrumpy is gorgeous  I love the Beddie/whippet types.

I've got a 'whirrier' too. My little Meg is whippet x some sort of small terrier - probably Border Terrier, so a bit of an unusual mix. She's only about 15" to the shoulder, and very 'terrier' in looks and personality.

She's an odd looking little thing, she has an undershot jaw, sticking-out-teeth and slightly twisted back legs, but she's one of the most obedient and trainable dogs I've ever had (and very loving and snuggly)

Now I'm going to show my age here :- "

Years ago there was a programme on called "Out Of Town", with a presenter called Jack Hargreaves. I was pretty young then of course :* It was probably the only countryside programme on then, and dear old Jack used to show you all things coutryside.

I can't remember if he had JRTs or Whippets, but he said the very best cross for hunting was JRT x Whippet. He had a litter of them in his shed, and was very proud of them.

So, come on then who can remember the song from the beginning of the programme?

Say what you will

The countryside is still

The only place where I can setlle down

Troubles there are

So much rarer

Out of Town

Hi fellow oldie Elizabeth! That was great to watch, but a bit painful as we can't get broadband here. It would have been nice to see it in one stretch, but got it in little bits.

I searched for Out of Town song, and it seem it came from a film from 1956 (we weren't born then were we 8) ). The film was called Charley Moon, and Max Bygraves sung the song Out of Town. I do remember that warbling guitar theme as well, so I don't know when the song was played. Here's the link to the song

Funny I only remembered the first verse, but there's more :teehee:
