at work today someone was saying that they'd been looking for a dog and had gone on adtrader and that you could get anything on there, even free whippets!

obviously I told them that its not a good way to get a dog but really I thought surely not, but have had a look and its true :( it says free to good home

wish I hadn't gone on there now, but I honestly thought they were lying

in termoil now

Is there anyone local who could get him and perhaps let rescue know?

Oh dear, this is worrying,he could end up anywhere :(

Think i'd better make a phone call!

Unfortunately,he's already gone,lets hope he'll be o.k.

Alfyn have you got him now ?

let us know what happened please :(

The guy just said he'd gone this morning & hung up on me :(

I wish I'd seen it earlier

Aww poor little guy - fingers crossed someone nice has got him. :luck: :luck:

:( That is worrying, that poor whippet. It does not take 2 minutes to call the Whippet Rescue to find a 5* home for them, they are a very sort after breed. There are hundreds of people offering loving top class homes for these great canines! Shame on those people, obviously do not care who they go to as long as they are rid of the poor dog. Really dont know how people can do it!

Hope for the sake of the whippet someone who is offering the best home is first in line and is on their way to a better life. :(

Our Free Ads Paper prints a couple of lines saying that if someone is looking give their animal "free to a good home" then it is recommended to contact Bristol Dogs Home etc. who will carry out an inspection of the new home for you. I hate seeing ads for free to good homes as it is so very likely that the animal (whatever it is) is going to end up in a home that has only got it because of the fact that they have had to pay nothing for it. I am not saying that everyone who is looking for a free dog etc. will mis-treat them or not look after them correctly, but it does worry me all the same. Also, how can any responsible owner let their animals go in this manner? I hope the little chap has gone to a good, loving permanent home and will not be the dreadful subject of some awaful thing happening to it such as the poor yorkie who I read about in an earlier post.
