Mae, my whippet puppy, seems to have found a new best friend in my neighbour’s cat Molly. Mae will follow the cat around and the cat follows Mae, it is really quite cute and has alleviated much of the fear I had of having to one day explain to my neighbours where the cat went and becoming a social pariah down my road where cats seem to rule.

Thought I would include this picture of the scene I came home to the other day. There is now obviously no table too high to keep things safe. (she does seem peaceful though :)) :) ) )

Mae is adorable...great pictures

I don't think the lucazade energy is working though :D

Awww. How cute!! Mae is absolutely gorgeous.

Paper shredding was a favourite of my two when they were younger aswell- it's amazing how far one magazine can spread when it's torn up into microscopic pieces isn't it?!

I think it was on delay, maybe that is what has been powering her for the last couple of days, she has been bouncing off the walls

Mae is a gorgeous girl. If they are socialised early with cats, I think they can live very happily together. My three not only live with two cats but they adore our big male, Sam. There is a lot of mutual grooming and then Sam settles down with them and they all fall asleep in a heap! :D

Ahhhh Mae and Molly!! That is so cute... still working on Lily and Ole (my cat!). They aren't bonding as fast as I would like!! Fingers crossed though... your pics give me hope!

How old is Mae?

xx

She is about 5 1/2 months now.

Mae does try to dominate the cat a bit and treats her a little like another dog but luckily Molly stands her ground and will tell Mae off if she gets too rough. I have to admit, though I am terribly allergic to cats, Molly is really nice and it is great to see them trotting off together down the garden. I think the key in their relationship is a very confident (and tolerant) cat

I'm sure you are right about that - she has found the perfect trainer! Lovely photos, I particularly like the second one. What a beautiful pair they are together (and singly!).

The last photo reminds me so much of Toddy. Funny how they can create havoc from practically nothing in a few seconds :teehee: :teehee:

Lovely that she is getting on so well with the Molly cat. My lot are definately NOT cat friendly :(

 Mae is lovely. What great photos of her with Molly. My dear old tabby cat, Thomas, was 18 when I got Rifle. Rifle would have liked to be 'friends' but Thomas made sure Rifle knew his place. The day Rifle jumped up onto my bed and came face to face with Thomas was like something from a cartoon......Whippet running in mid-air!! (w00t)

Mae is beautiful  The pictures of her and the cat are lovely, they look good friends :huggles:
