Hi everyone, :D

hope you all had a great Christmas :huggles: I was wondering if you could help me? When I got my first whippet (a small brindle party colour) Who has since become my best friend, I read somewhere that you can never have just one and me being a whippet virgin thought YEAH RIGHT but now a year and a half on and guess what I have another and in time I will probably take my family to Three, I know a few others on this sight and they to have more than one. So what is it? Why do we not stop at one? Now please don't misunderstand me I love my dogs more than life itself and would never dream of not having them because they are so funny, affectionate and lovely dogs that along my two children have made my life complete. But I would just love to know your theory's on the matter.

They really get under your skin don't they?!? I have three dogs (Collie x, Tibetan Spaniel and a 6 month old Whippie) Already I'm planning how to get my hands on my next Whippet!

They are as you say fabulous fun and terribly therapeutic to stroke/massage!

Hi,

yeah they do, I have only had my second a couple of months and I have already decided that the next will be a bitch and that I want her to be a red brindle. Its completely mad. I think its got alot to do with the fact that they are so funny your right.

they are very addictive many years ago we had 14 (w00t) they just seem to fit in with most peoples life style :) i love to watch them playing togeather they are very affectionate :huggles: we have always raced and the pleasure you get from seeing your baby run win or loose is great whippets forever i say :)

14 (w00t) crikey!

I have just got my second and I must admit I was a tad nervous but Benjamin has fitted in to our family so well.

My hubby has already said, :- " that before I think about it, the answer is no :( lol

We just haven't enough room for more than 2 whippies

omg everyone is at it lol we are on the look out for our second whippy now phoebe will be 2years old in 2 weeks and we now think she may like a sister we thought we would wait until after crimbo as that is when all the selfish fools who got dogs for there kids for crimbo then decide to get rid of them and we would dearly like to find a rescue whippy i have sat up night after night looking at all the rescue centers in the country and we cant find a single one!!!.......we would go anywhere to get one as like you say they are so addictive truth be told if we had the room we would have a house full of them. good luck to anyone looking for another one and remember.........if you hear of a female adult whippy needing a home LET ME KNOW PLEASE.......................changing subject HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL ON HERE GOOD HEALTH AND HAPPINESS TO YOU ALL AND THANK YOU TO YOU ALL FOR EASING OUR SITUATION THIS YEAR AND HELPING US IN OUR DIFFICULT TIME.xxxx :)

I have 2 because i work full time and having 1 on his own doesnt feel fair to me.

My plan is to stop at 2 for now because I have a long term strategy!

My boys are close in age so chances are I will lose them in quick succession (when they are 18 at least - you hear me boys?)

And I dont want to be in the awful position where i am dogless but not able to think about new dogs because I am grieving so much for my beautiful pillocks.

So the plan is, when these 2 are about 8 or 9, bring 2 more whippies into the family - if I keep doing this I need never be dogless again!

Makes sense to me! :teehee:

 i wonder who to blame :- " ;) :D :D

 I had wanted a black whippet for about 8 years but, being sensible, I thought I should wait until I didn't have so many other dogs and cats (w00t) Finally I decided that if I didn't get a move on I'd be too old to have a puppy :teehee: so in May I decided that I wasn't waiting any longer and after searching for quite a while I found my Jinny (on epupz).

The rest is history :huggles: I can't imagine my life without Jinny now and she was closely followed by Ella (also on epupz but being sold on from her first home :( )

I have no doubt that there will be a third whippie before 2008 comes to a close :- " I always did plan on another one next spring when Jinny was a year old ;)
