Maybe us oldies will remember her - maybe the youngsters wont.

Maybe those with 'OZ' memories (obscure connection here not :teehee: ) will remember her husband.

Maybe a few will remember (possibly) the dogshow she judged BIS at, and which dog won.

Wild guess - is it Anne Knight of Dondelayo whippets?

Yes Dawn us old ones would know, it is a well known picture of Ann Argyle with the famous whippet bitch ch, Harque the Lark a one time breed record holder.

Ah :b , in which case the answer to the second part of the question is Crufts and Ch Pencloe Dutch Gold

Ann Argyle, and that might be Ch Harque The Lark

her husband was Michael Argyle who was a High Court Judge who became famous during the Oz Trial.

She judged BIS at Crufts when Dutch Gold went BIS which I think was 1992.

It's a great photo though - even someone with Ann's experience - The Whippet is up on the arm of the sofa lording over her :- "

Once at Great Harwood Agricultural Show the weather was absolutely attrocious and lots of cars were stuck in the mud. Judge Argyle's car had to be pushed onto dryer ground and I was one of the one's doing the pushing. I can remember it so well but I can't remember which one of them was judging. It's funny what you remember and what you don't.

Ann was knwon to some of us as `the Queen ` , A nicerr lady you could not wish to meet ,

Owner of Mayzees dad < Harque to Leo , she was due to have one of the litter , but unfortuanly her cancer came back and she knew she didnt have long :( and even though husband Michael was away in Aus , she didt want him brought home early. So its nearly 16 years since she died :(

I remember her giving Michael a hard time after hed judged Darlington, cos he gave my Badger the CC and Dutch only 4th :D

She lived local to me and always made me so welcome , as did Michael with his G n T s at 10 am

Gosh , trips down memory lane

She also gave my beautiful black Curlands Midnight Raider a rcc at Welks from post grad in 1985 so I certainly remember her well!!

Could you imagine the conversation in the household after Duch won Best in show under her and he had only won 4th under him :- "

And what a great example of the fact that showing is all about the judge's opinion on the day .
