Isn't Billy Boy still away at Scottish Derby?

I am trying to arrange transport to Donemana (from Derry) for myself and two whippets; my lurcher is still fairly active but retired from competition due to a foot injury.

Just got finished uploading 200 bloomin pix, though i aint for one minute, thinking of posting them all,so dont worry. What a day.My arms are burnt red with the sun,and the 2 pups i had with me,look about 3 lb lighter than when i left home this morning.Ive not seen a show with so many dog's ,both lurchers, terriers, whippets, and what is now called ,strong dogs,ie,(Staffy's,Wheaten's and so on)in quite a while .Well, i did say this time last year, that this one would be a goodun. The racing had a bit of a turn though,as the new lure wouldn't work.ASo after the 1st couple of puppy race attempt's,it was abandoned, and as they say,the show must go on,and so it did.The whole bloomin 18 classes, and that was just the lurchers. The judge i might add,is now out of dog's,but would have been the 1st over here to bring in stuff from across the water,as he purchased pups from none other than Mr Plumber himself, and went on to win many many show's with one of them. His main thing in those days though, was racing, and he also did pretty good at that too, winning both here and across the water.Anyway,i was chuffed to have taken my 1st puppy racing championship with one of my pups,at only his 2nd attempt at racing a lure.Swifty was also 3rd in the final, after a disasterous start, but then this was his 1st day to ever see a lure.By the time all the racing was over though,i think they were getting the idea,as buster not only broke free to chase up the outside of the fence,he then decided to jump the bloomin thing,in an attempt to get after the lure.So he seem's to have an attitude for it.By the time the showing was over,it was getting darkish,so the racing pix might not be that good,as i struggled with the light. But i'll put a few on anyhow, and the rest of the racing pix,and show pix,can go on over the next day or two.Just like to say well done to Ann n Eamon, and Rhonda n Colin, and to Robert,in the whippets.Thought Ian was gona take the overs with Smokey, but it seems there is no stopping that Jack dog,now that he's come of age. Pix to follow. ...Billy...

Seen that Robert, who was the ring steward in the lurcher ring, went home with quite a bit of silverwear too Colin,as his van was loaded with trophies n meal that his whippet won,in one of the other rings.Seemed every time it went in the ring,in came out with a red rozette mate.I guess there will be quite a few people not needing meal or nuts for a while then,as there must have been 60 odd 15 kilo bags, and a load of wee ones handed out to every class winner,in all the different categories,(ie,Terriers,n lurchers n whippet's n stuff). Now you wont find that matched anywhere else, either side of the Irish sea mate.
