Is it just my psycho whippet or does yours dog go a bit crazy when it's windy? I have just been out for a walk with Ash and it was one of those walks when you wonder why you bother! I'll set the scene; it's an overcast, dry(ish) and rather windy day. I said to Ash in the car "shall we go see Milly?" (1st mistake!) When we got to Wepre Park Milly, the love of Ash's life - a chocolate doberman, wasn't there. I swear as soon as Ash got out of the car and realised there was no Milly he had the devil in him!

He stole a little Jack Russel's frisbie, ran off with it and then left it across the other side of the field

He scattered a pack of dogs that an owner was trying to put back on their leads

He almost launched himself off a hillside into a tree so that he could catch a squirrel

He knocked over a little boy ( my fault I didn't spot him until it was too late)

He destroyed the dam Scooby the spaniel had been patiently constructing

Then all of a sudden the wind dropped and he was positively angelic! He was walking to heel, on and off lead. His recall was perfect and he even jumped in the car without an arguement! Now I know that Ash suffers from selective deafness at times and that he is quite partial to doing the wall of death round the furniture in the living room but he is never that naughty when we are out. I blame the wind! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Ali and Ash xx

I think the wind affects a lot of animals . My cats go peculiar when its windy and I have seen horses running around their fields like crazy in the wind (w00t)

oh yes... my animals turn into fruit cakes when its windy too....

Mine is unfortunatly always a nutter, can't blame the wind  but good to know other whippets have their moments to

Skye is a complete nutter at all times (w00t) but add wind and she is even more nutty  (w00t)

We'd better not run Ash and Hector with Finn and co on a windy day ... it would be utter mayhem, beacuse my lost are just the same ;D

Ha-ha.....love it. What a great story. I hope this develops into the adventures of Ash...even on non-windy days! :teehee:

 One of mines a nutter and has wind if thats any help? (w00t)

Yes - mine goes crazy in wind... It doesn't help we live on the windy north west coast = very excited little boy :)
