Hi, one of my 12 week old pups has developed an odd ear! About 2 days ago her right ear started to flop forward over her eye rather than hang to the side. I am new to whippets so was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if there is anything i can do to correct it. I'm not planning on showing her so it's not a problem to me, she just looks funny- poor girl!

Perfectly normal at this age!!

Their ears will go through a variety of different stages - up, down, sideways etc

It is always most noticeable at around the 3-5 months of age period so your two will just be starting now :D

Lovely pups

My little pup Evie is almost 11 weeks old now . For about the last week her ears have been different almost every time you look at her !

Sometimes they are the same but often they are going different ways . I think it's really cute and funny and since I have had whippets before I know they will end up going the correct way . I'm sure your pup will be the same

I think this is something that comes as a surprise to all new whippet owners ... I seem to remember asking exactly the same question when Finn was a pup and if you look at the pic in my signature you'll see he has perfect ears now. It can take ages for the ears to settle - Taran's are still all over the place and he's 8 1/2 months old - but by the time your pup hits her first birthday, if not long before, I expect her ears will be just fine

Two beautiful pups you have there

Whippets wouldnt be whippets....without those funny ears.... ;) :D

That's teething ear. They do tend to go all over the place at that age. Having said that my Diesel has wonky ears even now at 28 months, mainly when he is tired.

Thanks everyone who has replied  i'm suitably reassured, and will stop frantically stroking it back into place whenever she is on my lap!

Here is a pic of Evie with wonky ears
