Hi

Due to all the hot weather we have had an invasion of woodants, which have found there way under our backdoor into our kitchen. Does any one know of anything we can put down to kill them but thats ok for Whippys.

Thanks

Simon

The best ant killer I know of is Nippon. I used it myself some years ago by our back door the ants were gone within a week.

I'v never heard of woodants.

Are they ants or I'm thinking woodlice, those little grey armour plated bugs that roll into a ball when you touch them.

If there ants nippon is good as they take it back to the nest and poison all the other ants as mandy said.

Don't know what would be safe with dogs around for killing the woodlice.

Safe was is to use your FEET   . Get the River Dance folk in and they will soon be squashed,,,but would recomend a good mop up after (w00t) (w00t)

The only thing that will control ants are baits which the workers take back to the nest, the queen dies and so does the whole colony. We have here honey based syrup, which is put in a jar top and left in the ant's path, out of reach of pets. Within couple of days the ants stop comming.

Also make sure there is no food left for them; wipe your kitchen benches everytime you make a cuppa, keep all you food stuffs in airtight jars and take away any dog food they did not eat. Ants are especially atracted by sweet things, so be careful you do not spill suggar or leave biscuit crumbs around..

:luck:

Ugggg I Hate Woodlice  - we have loads in our garden too. They love to hide under plantpots and bury into my rockery plants - Yes Ant killer does work - but its the dogs Im always frightened they will eat the stuff - so dont put any kind of 'killers' around
