As you may know, woody went in for x-rays on friday, and I was very worried. Thankfully all went fine! All your good wishes must have helped, so thank you. She didn't find anything really abnormal, she did an ultrasound scan as well so she could compare the two, but still nothing stood out. So we still don't really know what it is but it may be in his brain. She's given him some quite strong steroids to go long with his thyroid medication, hes also on a short course of antibiotics, So woods now rattles with pills every time he moves!!! and I've also got him some herbal devils claw pain relief liquid. An extra plus side to the steroids he is on is that they will make him hungry and thirsty so he'll hopefully gain weight a bit quicker now, he's back into the vet on tues evening to see if the pills are mking any difference - if not we're really going to have to have a serious think about his quality of life :(

On a lighter note, Bobby is coming on leaps and bounds. He does have to go to the vet on friday for his heart x-ray but thats only to decide which heart medication he'll be on. You'd never know he had a bad heart though' as he's quite active, trotting round the garden and pouncing on his squeaky dog toy. I had a days work on friday when Woods was in the vet, so Bob wasn't left lonely I took him with me and he had a great time sitting outside in the sunshine all day - he was our supervisor, he watched up vigilantly to make sure we shoveled chalk correctly! He fell asleep on my lap in the truck on the way home, it was really nice to bond with him like that and give him some individual attention. However he was very happy to meet up with woody again when we picked him up before we got home :D

I do hope that the medication will help Woody to live comfortably for his future :luck:

Bobby looks a cheeky little chap :D ......... I'm sure they were both much loved at some stage in their previous lives   and it's lovely that they are getting the best of the best now :)

Dear Pointydogs

Thank you for keeping us updated. I know many of us have our fingers and toes crossed for you.

Lets hope that Woody responds well to all the tablets and that Bobby fares well next week.

:luck:       :luck:

Thanks so much for the update - I've been checking in on here over the past two days far more often than is healthy! I'm relieved and pleased it went well for Woody, even if they haven't quite got to the bottom of it. I hope you and the vet can keep him comfortable and hopefully better soon.

When I see that picture of Bobby I just want to fling my arms round him. They are both darlings. I think what touches people is that we can't bear the thought that any of ours would end up in rehoming kennels, but if they ever did, we'd want someone like you to come along to make it better :flowers: I've told my husband if anything happened to me I'd come back and haunt him if he ever let anything happen to my whippies!!

Fingers crossed for both of your boys :luck:

Things are looking good :D He's been up and about a little bit more, definatly a bit brighter in himself. He jumped on my lap and gave me a big waggley cuddle last night so hopefully things will continue to improve

Am so glad that the prognosis is a bit better than originally thought. There is nothing worse than seeing your beloved dog ill and even the vets not knowing what is wrong. Everything still crossed for them, they do look lovely.
