I need your help! :teehee:

Each year, the difficult task of nominating and voting on judges for specialty and National shows comes around. :- " In Oz, we generally contract international judges for the majority of our whippet shows but like many others, I don't know who is licenced to judge our breed and, therefore, who I can seek a resume from or nominate for a show.

To try and make this easier, I'd really like to compile a list of all specialist whippet judges from around the world.

If you are a judge or know a judge, I'd greatly appreciate a response with the following information:

Name

Country of Residence

Prefix

Email

Any other breed involvement

Licenced to judge xxxx breeds

The reason for asking about other breed involvement and all breeds you may be licenced for is that sometimes we are able to subcontract judges to other shows.

I'm happy to share the list and even publish the list on the internet so we can all benefit. If you think is is a good idea, let's discuss. The list will allow us to know who is licenced and give us contact details to seek detailed resumes. However, if any judge doesn't wish their details published, please let me know this when you send your details but I do hope you will still send details to me. :thumbsup:

I guess this could be one starting point, at least: On this page, you can search for all judges licenced in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden (although not necessarily living there anymore) for a specific breed:

Not all of them are breed specialists, but quite a few of them are, and many others are at least sighthound specialists. A quick google search (or a phone call) should help you sort between them.

Thanks Susanne, I did have a look last night at several overseas kennel clubs but unless I didn't know how to find it, none of the kennel clubs list judges' breed involvement. They may be a Sighthound specialist but I don't know what specific breeds they have an interest in.

What I'm seeking is purely judges who have had breed involvement with Whippets. If they have other breed involvement, that's great as we may be able to share a judge with another breed club or at least plan that they meet some breeders or see the breed when here.

I spent some time searching the internet to find breed involvement for the Scandanavian list Barmand posted, but I would be grateful if there is anyone out there who can finish it off for me if I email it to them. Some I knew as they've judged here previously but many of these judges I don't. I spent several hours last night searching the internet trying to find who had whippet involvement. -_-

Converseley, some of our Aussies judge overseas and you may not be aware if they have breed involvement. Wouldn't it be great to be able to have a quick look on a list to check?

This list is purely for consideration when nominating and voting of judges for whippet shows - nothing more. I'm not seeking number of dogs bred or champions, or where you've judged, who you've bought dogs from or exported dogs to, whether you still exhibit and breed and how often, but just the basic information. All that is important is that you have owned the breed and have a licence to judge. :thumbsup:

I know there's lots of judges on this list who haven't responded so please, don't be shy, send your details now. Over the years, we've had many wonderful overseas Whippet breeder/judges for our shows, and, hopefully, we'll get to showcase our dogs to many more - but we need to know who you are!
