Hi Everyone,

I'm Ben - I have a beautiful 11 week old yorkie boy called Jimbob - left

Unfortunately, I split up with my girlfriend last week and am now looking after Jim on my own - and I have no experience with dogs at all.

I know I need to get him chipped and checked at the vets, and pet insurance with petplan who are supposed to be good - and to feed him decent food 3 times a week.

He's more or less toilet trained although he does have accidents sometimes (weeing generally) otherwise he's very happy, healthy and full of beans.

Any other tips or info? Really need someone to talk to !

Thanks - Ben

I think he may need feeding more than 3 times a week!! ;-) I would try 3 times a day if you want to keep him alive!

Welcome to Dog Forum - I am Anna! :)

Yeah I know - was only pulling your leg!! ;)

Jim is very cute... has Rosie stayed with you too?

No Rosie is hers, Jim is mine - wanted a dog since I was a boy. I'm staying at my parents place while they are away on holiday.

Oh dear - very sad for you all :(

No chance of patching things up?

Hello and welcome.

Sorry to hear about your split!

In regards to your little pup you sound like you have it under control. :)

Petplan have been really good with me and I am glad that you've sorted your insurance early!

If you're in the UK I no dogstrust are doing free mircochipping weekends soon, so if you look at there website you may find somewhere near that you'll be able to get your pup microchipped.

Details are here for the dates http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/az/m/microchipping/freemicrochippingevents.aspx

Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and me.

Get him on a good quality food, the best you can afford. We feed Rocky Barking Heads TLC, chicken.

There are lots of good quality foods out there, try asking for some free sample pouches to find something he likes.

Hello :)

Dixie and Winston are on Barking Heads Puppy Days :) Which has been great so far but we are thinking of changing to Arden Grange to see it help with Winston Frenchie flatulance and cos Dixie needs to go onto adult food) If you go on Arden Grange website and ask for advice they send out sample packs. If you e-ail Barking Heads they usually do as well :)

Hi and welcome to the forum!!

So sorry to hear of your troubles.

You sound like you're doing fab and have everything planned :)

Any questions at all, ask away!

jimbob looks just like my Dexter at that age,its best to take him to puppy socialising classes as its good for a puppy to learn doggy manners around other dogs.
