thank you all so much for a lovely weekend!! i love coming to the club on wednesdays, but this was my first open and what a great experience! (w00t) it was the first time i have camped with the dogs and i loved it, whisper tryed really hard at the begining of the day, but with all the excitement he was tired by the end but he loved it!! it was fantastic to watch and everything was run so smoothly, vicky, mark, keith, jackie, tony and everyone else who helped should be proud

It was lovely to finally meet you Vicky and Jacqueline x

We would like to thank all of the AT crew for a brilliantuy weekend everything was spot on, the display of trophies and jackets on both days were lovely, the company was great especially big DAVE who kept us all laughing. Unfortunately it looks like CAcharel has sustained a gracillas injury as bruising this morning, never mind now looking forward to our sottish holiday, lastly massive well done to special little girl Penny PRADA on winning the George Hartley. at half yard a pound very impressive. See you all in Scotland

I think it's fair to say we all had a good weekend, weather conditions were far from perfect as they often are here in the North West for a race event, as has most of the country we've been plagued with loads of sun and no rain at all which meant the track was harder than we'd have liked. We put sand down hoping to add a little more "give" to the surface and the track was watered every day last week, the hose was on all day Friday despite there being a hose pipe ban and the finish was well watered before racing, we advised people to strap dogs stoppers to hopefully keep injuries to a minimum, we couldn't have done any more. Despite this some dogs still came off with stopper injuries, our own included and to those dogs i wish a speedy recovery. Unfortunately it's just one of those things.

I can't say the racing went without a hitch as there were problems both days, unfortunately no matter how well you prepare there are still little demons than put a spanner in the works, thankfully everyone was very understanding.

We had a brilliant team of helpers Tony Tent worked his ass off from turning up Thursday until leaving this morning, Ray Cahill mucked in all weekend and was a huge help to us, Jacqui, Tony & Ray did a good job judging both days, with more close races than you could ever imagine, Craig & Keith did an excellent job on the traps all weekend, couldn't fault you, Mark on the lure both days and running about like a headless chicken, and to everyone else who helped set up, pack away and stand in doing jobs over the course of the weekend, you don't realise how much your help is appreciated but without you all we'd have been buggered.

We did really well with sponsorship, Royal Canin, K9 World, Tom Peppercorn, Chudleys and Linda Broom donated medals, it would be nice if the sponsors could get some feedback from the racers for their generous donations.

Some good racing both days, 2ft/lb & 1/2yd/lb still prove to be the best formats with very close finals; i won't bother putting Saturday results on again but well done to all the winners, particularly Fly Baby, Classic Rock and of course our new track record holder Love Lockdown (8.04).

I think that's my lot. Some amazingly close races all day, Prada proves that a good little un can still win at 1/2yd per pound and it makes it more of a race for the bigger dogs rather than them just trailing in behind the front runners.

Bobby Dazzler put in the performance of a lifetime in the dog final absolutely foot perfect in every stride and was a deserving winner of the George Hartley Dog Shield, he's a dog we've all known has got what it takes and has hit top form of late. This was the first year my grandad wasn't sat at the finish watching the open and I was very proud to hand over the Graham Cooper Memorial Shield to it's first winner, the unstoppable Prada.

Good luck to everyone travelling to Scotland and thanks once again for supporting our little club

Really pleased with Scholes, he ran a blinder both dogs, if we could just get that trapping right.

Great weekend very long and back late last night but really enjoyed it, thanks to all at AT.

Would like to say a huge well done to Vicky and Mark with Hunkie. He ran an absolute blinder for you, blasting the traps and hanging on until the end. Last time we saw a dog trap like that, it was his Dad

Lets hope he keeps the pace up! We all knew he had it in him.

x
