Timber has for a long time been moderately interested in the usual animal noises etc on tv. But Countryfile tonight is doing the One Man and his Dog finals (?). He is hyper alert. He is whistle trained for recall, but I read somewhere I think that different tones are different to the dog so I was quite surprised. Thoughts anyone? Is he missing his vocation?

Tigan shows no interest in the TV at all. In fact we think he is a little averse to it. He takes himself off upstairs in the evening :)  One of my old dogs used to get very agitated at the sound of puppies on the tv and would search behind it to find them!

I do enjoy seeing those dogs work, especially the pairs! Timber has gone back to normal, he doesn't really enjoy Pointless  :)

I agree :)  Lovely to see dogs doing the task they were bred for.

Some of our lot react with concern,  when they hear young puppies squeaking on the tv,

I have seen the occasional girl pop out into the back yard to see where the problem is, they are not silly though, it does not take them long to realise there are no puppies around, indoors or out.

My dog generally ignores the TV when it's on, even with dogs barking and yelping.  He will however pop up his head and prick up his ears if he hears high-pitched sounds which often sound as though they're behind him due to surround sound  :D

Evie generally ignores TV, she might sit up of there's an interesting noise.  However our cat is very interested.  We have even at times put a chair in front of TV so she can sit and watch more easily.   Usually animal programmes!

I love that you pull up a chair in front of the TV for your cat! Very lucky lady :)

I know this is a dog forum but thought you might like to see photos of our cat Izzy, enjoying the TV.  Mind you since Evie the dog arrived her life is a little more stressful and she has less time for relaxing in front of TV!
