In my recipe for liver cake you can substitute canned tuna - would that help? I can post the recipe if you want it.

Yes please! I know I am a wuss and I can cope with raw tripe and even raw liver for him but even the thought of liquidising it makes me gag

No problem @Caro Perry - just swap drained tuna (in spring water) for the liver.

A pack of liver (supermarket packs are usually about 500 grams)
About 250 grams of flour - I use gluten free as some dogs are gluten intolerant
1 egg
A slosh of olive oil or salmon oil for a glossy coat (optional)

Cut the liver into pieces and use a hand blender to blitz it with the egg until it's a sloppy mess. Stir in the oil if using and the flour. It still should be a sloppy mess.

Turn into a parchment lined baking tray measuring about 6"x9". It shold be about an inch deep.

Bake at 170 degrees for about 15 minutes until a knife comes out clean.

When it's cold, cut into kit kat finger sized pieces - half them again for a smaller dog - and freeze them in a freezer bag. They freeze in separate pieces so you can take out one at a time and break into smaller pieces for training.

Dogs love it, it has no sugar, salt or other nasties and lasts for weeks. It also is cheap to make - a recent survey showed some dog treats to be more epensive, ounce for ounce, than fillet steak!

Hi

Right the owner is happy with the selection I have given which is freeze dried raw food and the puppies poo has gone from wet and runny to solid.

The owner eventually turned up 6 hours late and she gave me money to cover the food. And I have suggested puppy training as she is not trained she has everywhere and I have had to take her out every 4 hours night as well as she is over active.

Luckily I have separate quarters and wood flooring which I have cleaned constantly.

Luckily she today has calmed down slightly after a 2hr Walk.

Never again will I take on a puppy.

Aw-w no- puppies are brilliant! I never wanted mine to grow up. (Children are an entirely different matter.;))

Me too ...i love puppies i always preferred fostering pups as not many people wanted to ...glad pups tummy is better ....

24 hours from wet and runny to firm by using a new kibble, that's amazing, your very lucky.

Brain stimulation is as important as physical exercise 2 hours is alot for a 7 mth old puppy :(
Pups especially will act totally different in another persons house .
When i tried dog boarding lots of dogs acted totally different at mine to at home ...one never wanted to go home :Dthey used to drag her up the path to get her to leave ....:emoji_dog2:

We too are vegetarians but have raw fed for over 20 yrs ...you cant beat raw feeding for health benefits for the dogs ....
The meat we buy is from animals that have led a free range life ....its horrifying to read what goes in alot of kibble ...well known brands too ...

Post finished now as puppy gone home to her owners. And I am tired after cleaning the house and toys and bedding.

Thank you for all your help on food.

Ah ha, you are cleaning and sterilising your house, I though you meant the puppy had gone home to be cleaned and sterilised
I will try putting on a more sensible head today!
