I had not travelled much lately, but I had to fly out of town for a couple of days this week. And I am very happy to report that on both sides of my journey, airports have "Animal Relief Areas", completed with windows, fake grass, fire hydrants, poop bags, etc. Even showers.... clearly marked, with signs. Very clean and spacious. Awesome.

Love the fire hydrant :D

That’s brilliant! Do we have anything like this in the UK? I never leave the country and don’t have a passport so wouldn’t know :D:D

At the channel tunnel there are small grassed areas but they just have a poo bin. One might have some agility equipment I think.

Are you able to take lap dogs on to the plane itself rather than the hold?

I’ve seen a few celebrities doing this (May be that they’re business passengers!)

Some airlines have more restrictions than others, but generally - yes. The dog needs to stay inside the carrier at all times, and the carrier itself when on the plane needs to be under the seat in front of yours. And the dog + the carrier together need to be under 20 lbs (9 kg). Even when at the airport, waiting to board the plane - the dog needs to stay inside the carrier, unless using the relief area. That's where animal relief areas inside the airport are really great. If the airport doesn't have them - you have to take the dog outside of the building, and then come back again through all the security checks.

No chance for a big Labrador then!

We travel through Europe by train and quite often hear cats being transported. There was even one on a harness having a little stretch!
