Some members will have noticed that the forum has been down for a while. This was due to a change of server host - it takes a while (up to 72 hours, I've just read) for the changes to propagate across the Internet, and it may be back for some people before it is for others.
Posting seems OK for me, but smilies don't work yet - at least we're getting there!

Thank heavens for that, JudyN. I thought I was having a prolonged senior moment.

I didn't even know I'd managed to post that, it seemed to fall over again when I tried to post! It still seems veeeeery slow, but hopefully it'll improve soon.

Well, it got worse again... but fingers crossed, we're up and running...

Thanks for the explanation - I was on the verge of giving up completely. Perhaps we could have some warning before changing sites in future?

Absolutely - I don't think Josie and Ollie realised that it could result in an outage, so I knew nothing about it either.

Apologises everyone for the problem with the forum the past couple of days. Of course if we are aware that there are going to be any issues then we will pre warn you but on this occasion we were not aware it would cause such issues.

Thanks for your patience!

Can’t appreciate enough the erudite nature of this site - “outage”. Hitherto I thought it was something related to the desire for songs by Shirley Bassey and Judy Garland as a side effect from the second vaccination.
