looks like they had a great time

What super shots of them both  and a lovely place to run!!

They're at that leggy stage, bless

What a grown up lanky looking pair they are   I especially like the Blue...he is very stylish

lovely pictures

may I ask why do they wear harnesses? would it not damage their backs?

Aren't they gorgeous! I love that long leggy look, so sweet.

Very nice colours, be wary with sticks, last summer Milly was behind me and I did'nt notice she had a small stick stuck across the back of her mouth. I had to get my fingers right in her mouth to force it out.

Hiya

Our vet advised us to use harnesses instead of collars while they were little to avoid damage to their necks and to stop them escaping. They are usually on extending leads and the pace they get up to before they reach the end, I wouldn't want that force on their necks. Besides, I feel they are less likely to escape a harness and as we live in quite an urban area, they would be in the middle of a road in seconds if they escaped. Has anyone heard of dogs damaging their backs on a harness? They have collars on as well in the pics because I just bought them now the dogs are older, so they were wearing them for the first time to get used to them. :)

they can do, especially if the dogs pull on it (and a harness often encourages pulling).

I'd be careful with a flexi lead and collar combo too, if they spot something and dart off the force to their neck would be much greater being on a flexi than a short lead.

Yes, I know, it's difficult isn't it. They don't really pull at all on the harness. Problem is, they need to run a bit and unless I drive 15 mins to the nature reserve there's nowhere I would consider safe enough for two pups to run free - we are surrounded by canals, expressways, railways etc. We have quite a big garden but they've churned that up a bit in the recent wet weather. I take them to a local park but the enclosed dog area is quite small and busy and subsequently is either already taken or muddy/crappy which I don't enjoy much. So, most of the time, for their own safety, they are on the lead :( and get more exercise if it is flexi.

it's crap, isn't it, urban living. we're in London and only have one small park near by so if we want a bigger place we have to bus it down :D
