This 11 year old whippet boy has been at Evesham greyhound and lurcher rescue for months now. It must be his age putting people off, because otherwise he seems to have no bad points as all. :( I think he came in from the same home with another whippet as both their write-ups stated that they had come from an elderly owner who could no longer take care of them. Sadly the 15 year old frail girly passed away very recently before she got the chance of a new home :( Don't let this older man pass away precious time in rescue, someone give him a new home please :*

There was another thread about these two. Sadly Rosie, the 16 year old girl, died recently.

Casper is awaiting surgery, and then has a prospective home waiting at the end of the month, so fingers crossed that all works out for him :luck:

Thanks for this i foster casper and he has just had his surgery this week unfortunatly his testical has gone cancerous but thankfully it was keep inside the testical and has not spread so this was great news and he only had to loose 2 teethbut he has managed to crick his neck but this is getting better with some medication but the good news is his family are waiting to come and see him we just need to get a home check done so if anyone lives in the bristol whitchurch area how have homed checked before for a charity the please give me a call on 0121 258 4510

Sadly i have just spoken to Caspers people and they have decided that they dont Casper any more they want a younger a dog :(

Oh no what a shame :(

I would so love to take him, but I really CAN'T have another dog at the moment. I really hope he finds the right home soon :luck:

:( poor old chap hope he finds a sofa soon ,how do you think he would cope in a 7dog house hold ranging from 4mth to 7yrs ??

Oh poor Casper :(

Surely someone can give him a forever home for Christmas?

Casper is not such a easy dog to find a home for unfortunatly he has quite specific needs in his new forever home he is not cat friendly we have tried several times to introduce him and he is not willing to back down sadly he would not cope in a multi dog house hold and is not so keen on bigger males he is dog aggressive when on a lead and only tolerate short walks.

What he really needs is a retired couple who have either a smaller older girl or to be an only dog a short walk every day where he wont meets lots of dogs some one who will carry him up the stairs so he can sleep on the end of the bed some one who is willing to hand feed him when he goes of his food and take him for regular check up at the vets for his stiff neck and his heart

So a massive ask i know but i know there is a home for every dog out there and i am willing to be patient but please do not worry for him he sleeps the day away on my settee has a little walk in the morning then gets carried to bed where he sleeps either at then end or in my bed at night, but i know when a forever home comes for him i know i will be sad to see him go but pleased that some one will love him as much as i do i hope they have many happy years with him

Oh bless him - I firmly agree that there is a home out there for every dog, so keeping everything crossed Casper's ideal home is out there somewhere :luck:

It's good to know he's happy and being spoilt in his foster home while he's waiting :))

Thanks for posting blue2you. I agree there is a home for him out there and he will find it- and in the meantime he's got you, so he's doing good. :)

I Just wanted to share with you the wonderful news that Casper went to his forever home this weekend to live with 3 other girly dog friends and has settled in well, after 6 long months i wasnt sure this would ever happen there were lots of tears from me and my daughter but mixed with tears of happeness we do miss him but i know how lucky he is to have such a wonderful new home.

So for those of you that foster and they have been with you a while there is always a home for every dog its just a case of waiting for the right one

Oh that's wonderful news for Casper, I keep going back to look at him :D

Hugs for you, my little corgi foster was with me over six months and I know how hard it is to let go after so long ((()))

That is wonderful news :D

Good luck with your lovely new family, Casper :luck: xxx

Really wonderful news. He really got under my skin, but we are powerless to help him with having too young entire males here.

So pelased for him!
