anyone watching yesterday wouldve seen how badly he was running. from the traps onwards was hard labour. after the final linda spotted him limping a bit when we walked towards my car.

anyway today has revealed all in the form of severe bruising and scratches down his legs.

so heres the first pic

then from above as he does the spyhinx type lie-down, note the swelling of his leg.

poor colt :huggles: has he got some muscle damage?? that could explain the bruising.

im going through it with kiplin at the moment hes got major bruising on the back leg and swelling down near ankle joint which our vet said today it was oedema and we have to keep it moving to get the fluid reduced.

hope everythings ok with colt and hes sorted real soon :huggles:

OUCH!!!!

That looks very sore, how do you think he's done it?

For now I'd get some arnica cream on it & also give him the arnica tablets too. That should help with the bruising at least.

Poor boy :( :huggles:

Awwww John that looks realy bad give him lots of hugs and kisses from me

could he have done it when he went into that other dog in the first race? do you know witch one I meen.

poor colt hope hes feeling better soon sending him lots of :huggles: :huggles:

Aww no, poor colt :(

Looks quite bad. Im not a professional with this sort of stuff but my advise for now would be lots and lots of love like, sleeping on the floor and let him have the bed and give him a cup of tea and you drink out the water bowl  .

Good luck with him.

Get well soon colt :huggles:

Look's like i was'nt far out John.Listen.Im off to Newry on thursday morning, with Pyper. Why dont you bring him down, and have Brian Jones look at him.The problem could be deeper, even though it look's close to the outside, with that bit of bruising. Her,had some run home this morning boy, after mistakingly selecting the lane for the M1.Those city folk are crazy mate.2 mile down the road we hit the severe fog again, which stayed with us till we got home after 10.The wee lassy has settled down great John.Thank's again mate, and i like that pup of youre's. ...Billy...

ouch!that looks sore. :( i thought there was something wrong with him when i saw him race.he didnt look right.hope hes better soon john.good luck :luck:

thats what i would say but am no expert :b

One thing we do know folk's.John will go to the end of the earth ,to get it sorted. ...Billy... Now Goodnight, cause im wrecked.

Hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like a torn gracillus muscle ! If it is, very nasty ! Worth your while to take a spin down to Gerry Scullion in Leitrim to get him checked out. In the meantime get the cold hose on that spot ! May bleed down and end up with a big swollen foot, but don`t worry about that if it does.

Have to go with the flow John "dropped muscle" curse of fast dog's never known a slow one have it happen. Cold day like Sun. only helps it, the big muscled dog's need lot's of warming up.

Hope I'm wrong.

It's the same thing John. Good medical treatment, surgery can help if performed early enough. Laser treatment etc if you are too late. It doesn't look too bad. One of ours had a tremendous amount of discolouration all his leg was black he lost about a yard. One of our others was completely ruined as a competitive dog but he can still free run at exercise. Keith Woodwards "Louie" had one when he was a veteran but he went on to win a veterans title. Suppose it's luck & good handling.

No need to say he'll get the best from you now he need's some luck.
