It's worth a try! I think they'd both have a whale of a time and stick their tongues out at us both! :teehee:
Seriously, there isn't any dog I'd desperately want to handle - it's nicer to sit at the ringside and watch. Although there might be some I'd like to handle to see why on earth they...
Well done everyone.
We were sorry not to be there, but Cheetah is in season (day 18, still looks like a baboon abd still playing rude games with Ellie :o ! ) and Ivan is too lovesick to eat and could easily model his skeletal structure at an anatomy lesson. That is, of course, when he's...
There is also "The Whippet" Magazine, published twice a year by The Whippet Club. It's free to all Whippet Club members. To become a member, you need to contact Dennis Mayger, whose details are on The Whippet Club
At most clubs id it only first generation progeny, but as Liz said, each Club can decide the definition for their classes. If you are entering and intend to take grandchildern, it's best to give the Secretary a ring to check. I do know that at South West Whippet no grandchildern are allowed...
Well done Beetle!! I'm sure that was a bigger show than ours too!
Beetle, I'll ask Ellie about her chair, but if you and Ivan are bouncing round the room, you know what she'll say!
Thanks everyone. Ellie and I did have a little discussion about whether it is politically correct to pull the teddy-bear's hair when he bounces!
Ellie was BIS at the Swindon Limited Show yesterday!
The ironic thing is that I stopped showing her at the beginning of the year because she decided she didn't 'do' shows any more. I only entered her yesterday to support the Club. They don't get many hounds, so I thought she could go to help...
Thanks Anna. Dilly enjoyed her sausage - she ate it REALLY slowly to make everyone else jealous - but is also made it very hard for Jessie to take a photo of her! We were delighted - especially as the very pretty girl who was second is SIX years younger than Dilly! :o
Don't knock the Xmas decorations! That tree was very useful! I know now that I won't be having a tree this year - after Cheetah tried to 'pick' the bells off the bottom and almost pulled the whole thing down!! :b
I think there are 2 different things here. If I understand Jax properly, she is talking here about the running of shows here - and I fully agree with her. Being on the committee of 2 different clubs (one Whippet and one all breed) I know it is very hard to find people who are willing to help -...
Well Done Zephyr!!
And well done Beth for putting in all that hard work! I'm trying to get Cheetah through her Bronze at the moment, but I don't think recalls are supposed to involve crashing into the radiator at the end of the hall, and winding all the other dogs up because she's off the lead...
Dawn! When did you handle my puppy??!!
Her Daddy, however is quite another experience. Walk into the ring, Gladly stands himself, looks round and asks who is going to be 2nd! We get to the table, I lift him up, he stands himself again, perhaps I adjust a leg a little, he gives the judge a...
