The best thing you can do is give your dog the best food you can afford  Sadly as my monster has a sensitive stomach, his food costs £60 for a 14kg bag
Some of the points you make are really strange  Like the restriction on 4 Dogs max! My mind tells me that if a person is the type not to pick up after their dog the number of dogs is irrelevant. (I have two hounds and my friends laugh at me because what ever jacket I have on there are...
There is no such thing as a spoilt Greyhound  its just an urban myth (w00t)
I even take a blanket with me for Shadow to lay on when I go to the pub :teehee:
Don't forget some nice chews and a brush (if your going to pamper him, you must do a proper job (w00t) )
Tomorrow's the BIG day :teehee: Brilliant!!! I am sure you both will have a great time together
Dont forget to get your hound a nice soft bed and the PHOTO's........ (w00t)
My male has a runny tummy! :( is there anything I can give him to settle his stomach? The female is OK and they eat the same food so I am not sure if he has eaten something dodgy on their walk
I agree wholeheartedly with advise given above about getting your dog properly socialised as this will make your life so much easier and your walks will be more of a pleasure. Best of luck and dont worry greyhounds are really easy going and laid back
This morning my son came out with me when I took the hounds for their walk. We took them back to the field where I let her off lead the other day and we discovered something really AMAZING (w00t) Tess likes to play fetch with a tennis ball. Shadow would just chase after her as he has no...
Step One-----Have an IDEA ( was good at the time)
Step Two-----Release your dog from its lead
Step Three---Watch her disappear into the distance ( fast as a greyhound can)
Step Four-----Start to sweat (and wonder if step one was such a good idea)
But all's well that ends well, She tore off...
Today Shadow made me so proud (w00t) We went up to our local common for today's walk and he did the whole thing with NO lead (w00t) (w00t) (w00t)
He was off the lead for more than an hour and was so well behaved that I stopped by the local pet shop to get him a chew treat
In the video clip, he was walking OK outside with the other dogs!
Does he do the "crawl" only inside the house as he might have been
kept in a kennel at one time with a low roof. Or he might just be a bit
nervous of being in a new environment.
The female we are fostering at the moment walks...
Shadow is already mine or I belong to him (depends on your perspective) :teehee: Tess is busy worming her way into our hearts! she was really timid when we got her she was even scared of the TV, its so nice to watch her confidence grow and her personality come out.

Hi there, I have just found this forum but have had my Grey for about 14 months he is 7 years old with unknown history and we have just got Tess who we are fostering. She is the brindle one, luckily they get on really well although Shadow doesn't know how to play which is a shame.
