I got Morgan's brother Rex(same litter) a year ago at sixteen months old last Christmas. I took him in to foster over the Christmas period fell in love with him and decided to adopt him. He was a very thin nervous frightened neglected dog . He had very rough bristle coat and shedded profusely...
To get my dogs used to being left i started with very short periods of say 5-10 minutes. I always brought a small treat back.( I took it with me)
I didn't make a fuss as soon as i got in. They always look forward to my return an waited patiently for their treat . I can now leave them for...
Hi
I fed my greys raw diet the minute they came into my keeping ( Morgan at 8 wks his brother at16months) I feed WolfTucker. There's a good variety of raw diets served in a handy 500gram recycling packs. A larder freezer will hold 48 meals. The meals are not mushy but coarsely ground and...
Morgan and Rex both love rich tea biscuits. They can hear the tin opening from the end of the garden. They also love broccoli and carrots raw.
The also love salads with parsley and apples so I make them a small one every week ( no peppers though)
They love all human foods so we can't leave...
Myvets24-7 is a specialist in sight hounds. We couldn't get a quick appointment for Morgan and they recommend the Mandeville hospital. We still had a long discussion with the surgeon though. My hounds mean the world to us,and any vet who will not listen to us will not touch our beloved pets.
We...
Thanks,my dogs have been on raw diet from when they were weaned.
Morgan was put straight back on his natural diet as soon as he returned home. His stool was back to normal the next day.
The vet hospital is aware of the effects of anaesthesia on greys and we fully discussed this before...
I thought my greys were strange as they love salads. Lettuce, cucumber, celery , parsley and a small plum tomato cut in half in a salad. It's a once a week treat for them.
They just go mad when i get the salad stuff out the fridge.
I feed my greyhounds Nature Diet for breakfast and Wolf Tucker raw for supper. I fully recommend it. They have beautiful glossy soft coats .
If you order from fetch you can have a next day 1hr delivery slot of your choice
Hi everyone,
My dog Morgan snapped his cruciate ligament and was admitted to hospital for surgery on the 9th and operated on on the 11th. There was complications with his blood clotting time and brusing and swelling in his leg after pin and plating so was kept in for a further 4 days.
I had...
Just
Hi, I am referring to uncooked raw chicken legs.l have seen what happened to a friends dog a few years ago. Such a bone puncturing his throat while chomping on a raw chicken leg.
Admittedly it was or might have been a freak accident, but I'll never forget the howl of pain nor the...
I do agree with most posts here, dogs will eat anything. The trick is to find what you dogs like and is happy and healthy on. There's no hard and fast rules to feeding. Don't let so called scientific debate sway you as each dog's eating preference is different . It's up to us to find the happy...
Chicken legs(the drumstick ) have a thick bone and also a long thin needle like bone. It's this bone that is a problem for all dogs. It can cause a perforation if swolled whole.
It's better to give raw wings or chicken backs. Better to be safe than sorry.
I feed both my greys on cooked and raw with no ill effects. They have nature diet in the mornings chicken wings, whole turkey necks or a piece of lamb ribs as an afternoon snack and Wolf Tucker raw for their evening meal
They are almost two with beautiful soft glossy coats. They are never ill...
Hi Joanne, I will take you advice, I might add that Morgan has been eating chicken from 8wks when we got him. He's now 21 maths and started with his allergies in early March. However you've made a good point and i will give it a try. He's a fussy eater and will not eat anything gamey. Duck...
Morgen was named for my other greyhound who was deliberately killed by a hit and run . He was the offspring of Tyro Ted a racer .We never raced him but he was lighting fast even at 3 month old when we got him so hence the name of Morgan Aero sleek and fast as the car. Thanks for your...
I've noticed Morgan in the nettles on occasion. Maybe I'll try cooled nettle water. Actually I will buy the herb tea a dilute with cold water. Thanks Flobo
Judy,
This is a wonderful article, i will research the recommended products. I remember back in the early 70's training as a district midwife some of the grandmothers recommending oatmeal baths for babies with heat rash ect. Good old wives remedies they were too
Thanks again for sending the...
