Wow pet insurance is head battering!!

Well looked into Sainsbury’s pet insurance and looked good until I read further into the features and benefits, turns out, they will pay out for an illness, for the lifetime of the pet, but only until the policy amount is reached, eg £7000, then it will be excluded. In other words, the policy...

Wow pet insurance is head battering!!

I know what you mean, totally agree, however I believe vet bills can sometimes be thousands of pounds so banking £400 per year may not cover the costs. @MrCW, yes I checked and it’s just the excess to pay, I did notice some insurers were asking for a % to be paid......... I’d heard Sainsbury’s...

Wow pet insurance is head battering!!

That’s good to know, thank you, it’s probably Petplan I’m going to go with.... I suppose it’s all good if you go 13yrs without a claim.... but I suppose it’s a bit like putting the lottery on every week and never winning, but you have to, just in case!

Wow pet insurance is head battering!!

Oh no, god love him the poor thing! And poor you :( I’ve spent hours and hours researching and reading! Think I’ve found the right one, but it’s rather more expensive than I’d like to pay each month, but I know I’d rather have it in place than to try and find the money to pay expensive costs...

    Help.... snapping, biting and nipping!

Just a quick update..... Time out is working wonderfully, not that we need to use it very often now, if we do, he understands either the first or second time. My daughter visits daily and was usually greeted quite excitedly including some nipping and biting, but now he’s much calmer with very...

    What’s gone wrong?

Thank you, god this is so hard.... not the training, just the ‘have I done something wrong? Is he ok? etc.. if you know what I mean? Seriously, I keep saying this but it’s way harder than babies! Yes he has a crate, which when he’s sleepy he goes into or I pop him in and close the door to give...

    What’s gone wrong?

So we’ve had our fur baby 1 week today! Yay! He’s been super good with his house training with only the odd accident each day, usually near the door and usually when I haven’t reacted quickly enough when seeing the signs..... But yesterday and even more so today, there appears to be less signs...

Wow pet insurance is head battering!!

Thank you @Caro Perry ..... I’ve been looking all afternoon and still don’t know which one to go for! Morethan are by far the cheapest option, however the reviews are shocking!! I’ve yet to get a quote from The Kennel club, but I’m dreading that one! Petplan are coming out at about £31 per...

Wow pet insurance is head battering!!

Thanks for all your replies so far. I really need the insurance as we couldn’t afford to pull out the money if we needed to. What kind of costs are involved in vet bills? Looking at policies with different limits attached per condition per year and range from £1000 to £2500, £4000, £12,000 etc

    Help.... snapping, biting and nipping!

Thanks @Biker John thats kinda what I had in mind Thanks @leashedForLife, at the moment the crate is downstairs in our living room with his cozy bed in, he goes in and out himself during the day and I close the door if I need to leave the room to do stuff which will take a bit longer (10 mins...

Wow pet insurance is head battering!!

So I currently have free pet insurance with the Kennel club until 9th September for my whippet puppy, so I’m busy searching for cover, but seriously it’s a mind field and has got my head battered! Am I correct in believing Life long insurance is the best? But the life long insurance quotes...

    Whippet puppy ears.....

Hi, new fur mammy here and my first whippet puppy, now 9 weeks 4 days. Just wondered if anyone could tell me if everything’s ok with his ears? His right ear seems to have uncreased and flops forwards.........is everything ok? It doesn’t seem to be bothering him at all.

@Michele83 thanks for this it’s great getting other people’s advise and experiences :) I’m happy getting up with him at the moment, was just curious as to how I’ll know when he doesn’t need me too. Bless him he is just over 9 weeks so he’s doing really well. And OMG, I bought him a flirt pole...

    Help.... snapping, biting and nipping!

Thanks @pongo111 ..... it’s blooming hard work and exhausting isn’t it! At the moment I’m getting up at 3 to let him out, then up again at 6, which is normal for me on a work day although I’ve been on annual leave this week and again next. At what point to you know they can hang on all night...

They certainly are amazing on here, so pleased I found this forum! I’m pleased things seem to have turned a corner for you now. I know I’m still in early days, we’ve only had him 6 days, but yes, I feel the same, my worries are spoiling my enjoyment and I’m constantly on hot bricks! Think this...
