Visited Westhoughton on Sunday for a trial, took the opportunity to ask Rod Eccles Track owner who told him the whippets stopped on Thursday 3rd March?.
He told me he was told on the
Thursday 17th Febuary, that there would be the OPEN on the 20th Febuary
and then one more meeting on the 27th...
Thanks Andy, that explains why it was winners only. Perhaps this should be looked at?.
I for one, would like to see the scratch dogs given the same treatment as the weight class dogs. No more, but no less. Cheers Mick
I fully endorse all the praise given, it was a really good meeting, However if I can be critical (constructive of course) The lads on the traps did a marvelous job, no fast or slow traps at all, but I do think the start the hare got was far too long.
Stainforth greyhounds don't get anything...
I was at Ritchie & Manda's on Saturday and can tell you she's not in plaster. The picture (which was taken recently) which Ritchie posted on K9, is just how she is. I might add that she is in lovely nick, but then you would expect that coming from these kennels. Your very lucky. :D Cheers Mick
We now have five runners in the scratch race. Pointless is seeded right. Anyone wishing to seed their dog, can do so on the night, when we will do the draw for the traps.
I can confirm that Lynn & Mick Dudek have very generously donated four wonderful prizes for next Thurday. I can't thank them enough for such a
fantastic gesture.
Raffle prizes / cash donations will be most welcome.
An added bonus for that evening will be the eagerley awaited scratch challange...
I would like to take this opportunity to say a very big THANKYOU to Karen and Steve Boyd, who very kindly donated no less than five trophies for the heat winners and a cup for the handicap winner. They then having won a heat and the final with there good"little'un" Waterford immediatly gave the...
Good question, it would help me create some races and save some time if I knew what wanted to run, but even if you don't pre enter, I will put any dog already 'marked up' in a race too. anybody coming to Westhoughton on Thursday will get run/s.
Dogs already timed in this time, will not have to trial again. In fact we will put some races on to cover these dogs, whilst other dogs are trialling. So bring all your dogs, they will all get a run or two. Cheers Mick
Westhoughton Greyhound Track owner Mr. Rod Eccles,
has kindly given us the use of the track on Thursday evenings. (6-30 p.m. start). Next thursday, will be for all dogs to trial in . There will be a charge of £3
per dog for trials or racing and all dogs will be made welcome. Last time we had...
Steve, I agree with your train of thought, but when a dog is timed by one person and then by another the idea goes out the window. (I'm assuming you mean You mean at different tracks). You could have five or six watches on the line and the times would vary, plus 150 yds at one track could be...
Hi Curly, I don't know where your starting out from, but if you get onto the East Lancs rd. go past Haydock , then past Goldbourne Island, then past the Greyhound pub.two miles or so after the Greyhound pub, you will come to an Astley sign (left) at a set of traffic lights, turn left there into...
Hi Curly, the nearest track would be the 'Gin pit' which is Astly Miners w.r.c.
It's 40 minutes from Liverpool and we race & trial on a wednesday evening
starting around 6-30 p.m. If you have a dog?, you are welcome to bring it and trial it if you want. There'll be plenty of people there to...
