Im sure a puppy would soon settle in , as regards it getting out on to the road whilst at work with you , you could put up a baby gate . If you get a puppy from a reputable breeder then you should have no worries about temperament either and you can bring the pup up to your way of working ...
Feed what ever suits your dog and you .
If your dog looks well on what you are feeding stick to it , Some food s like Royal Canin Ive found you dont need to feed the volume of other biscuits . Just because its expensive dosnt mean its the best .or that the cheapest is the worst JMO
