aah the zoomies! Dude still does it at around 6ish in the evening and he's nine! I love it. When my very messy old housemate used to tidy her room, he would go in there and be so excited to see the floor he would go a bit nuts, and bounce around off stuff barking and being silly.
I used to have...
aaw lurcherman, you are so right, positive mental attitude! :) I for one have been totally affected by the wintry weather this last year. I'm normally quite positive about it, but this year i have been a right grump.... You are right though, happy thoughts, happy thoughts!
Trying to think of...
in answer to the original poster, no i don't think muzzling dogs in public would reduce the number of dog attacks, on people that is, it would just mean lots of sad dogs.
As for your situation, i think i understand why you don't muzzle your dog, it would make other people assume your dog is...
The miele allervac is pretty good, no brushes to get clogged, but pretty expensive bags. Also i use a rubber broom from a garden centre. I have two, one hand held, which gets hairs out of any fabric! Even industrial carpets, i help out my blind friend who has a samoyed, and it gets her monster...
think the ginger/dark yellow ones are called reds, the opposite of the very pale whiteish ones. Bit different but my friend has a very ginger golden retriever, he is lovely.
hi there. do you mean experiences with other local dog owners? I wouldn't rule out hiring a really good dog walker. My dog can be bit of a sociopath when he's on the lead. I too have offended about half the locals! Local professional dog walkers have really helped me out though, for free, and...
scientists still haven't decided when dogs were first domesticated, but they are guessing between 100,000 and 10,000 years ago. Hopeless fact!
I have now stopped feeling guilty about using my dog as a hand/foot warmer, thanks eingana!
oh look at his wrinkly face! How did i miss that you'd called him Homer?! That s brilliant!
I think this is the proof that ridgebacks belong in the sighthound group. Sleepy sofa hogs! Its definitley a ruse, just you wait, they pretend they need to sleep, but they are actually just storing up...
hiya. I'm from lincolnshire!!!! Where are you near? :)
I get allergies to stuff but i have to say i'm deeply skeptical about a food 'allergy' causing this reaction, also skeptical about a contact 'allergy', but thats just me... Has the vet done skin scrapes for mites, or mange type things...
that just isn't true cadac i'm afraid, they even advise people to put their dogs down rather than surrender them to shelters.
Dogs trust has that as their motto i think though.
hi there, glad to hear you have had some success with baxter. How was the zylkene going?
I'm sorry to stick my oar in, but I have a keen interest in herbal remedies, and i thought i'd just give a bit of warning that skullcap and valerian, are both fairly strong sedatives, they knock me...
hey there lurcherman, thats brilliant. Imagine if you had kicked it in the chops, and broken its jaw?? Your dog would still have been unharmed... Would've been hard to justify. The way you did it worked, yippee!
there are plug in diffusers and things with pheremones, for helping to allieviate anxiety, perhaps something like that may help. I would also report the breeder, to as many folk as possible, (kennelclub, advertisers, rspca, local dog warden, mp) this will relieve some of your anxiety!
It...
i'd say that was a success! He could've done a whoopsie and got himself barred ;)
My dog also retreats to inside my coat in the pub, i think its a ploy to make strangers go aaaaw... :)
Very hard to imagine him chasing down a lion tho eh?!
aaw bless her. My boy isn't that keen on the snow, (now its been here too often). I feel so bad when he sits down in it, to ask to go back home! I'm imagining her tiny paws in it... What a 'orrible shock!
no i wouldn't be concerned at all. Your breeder lady, following that misty method thing, will have trained him to sleep at night, so this a brilliant development. I'd just be glad you didn't have to ignore him crying, that would be sooo hard to do.
Eeek congratulations! Very excited for you!
teehee! Murphyrules is right, i bet he's calmly watching and learning all that goes on in your house, then when he's grown into those enormous paws a bit, he's going to be up to allsorts. I can't wait to hear and see how this pans out, cuddly calm puppy sounds amazing, wish i was at your house...
