I've got a very handsome fawn Ollie, but my grandad had a blue who was simply gorgeous. Its next on my list to get a little blue girl - ASAP!
I love all whippets and so does Ollie, he's always really excited to run into a whippet or any sort of sighthound.
This forum is full of piccies of...
My vet mentioned that you get 6 months leeway on the vaccinations so I am opting to vaccinate mine every 18 months from now on. He's 3 and he's been fully vaccinated up to this point.
This should mean he is fully protected but will make it a bit cheaper :))
I have signed too. My dog was also hit by a car this year when he bolted due to a random firework at 6pm on 30th October. Luckily he survived, but it was the most terrifying experience.
In my opinion fireworks should only be allowed at organised events.
So sorry to hear about Mabel... poor...
Helen, thats a good tip with the sock, i will try that tonight.
ILKC, have you owned a dog with this problem? I have tried everything you say.
Ollie got run over last week. He took off from the park when a firework went off at 6 o'clock. He just ran and ran, straight into a car, then ran a...
It was in Deepcut, walking him with my Mums whippet Jessie. She's a real hunter and frequently catches squirrels; I guess she is a bad influence!
Anyway he is back to looking as handsome as ever! :)) :))
And he smells of lavender too!

Thanks for your help - its looking fine now. On sunday it kept oozing blood and was swollen, so I was pretty concerned. Last night I bathed it in salt water and it is now just 2 tiny nicks on his muzzle. You'd barely know it had happened.
Ollie's never caught anything, usually he is too...
Thanks, just needed a bit of reassurance! I think its looking better and he seems his perky self. Actually he wasn't even bothered at the time, just wanted to catch the squirrel.
I'll try the lavender oil. :))
Hi,
Ollie got a nasty squirrel bite yesterday on the muzzle. When he came back the whole of his muzzle was bright scarlet and it seemd to be bleeding from inside his mouth too. I put pressure on the bite and it slowed down fairly quickly. Once cleaned up it looked a lot better, just 2 puncture...
We had a whippet cross who had dew claws, she would break them every now and again, but we just strapped them and they would be fine very quickly so no vets fees. So you should be fine I reckon. :))
I always bake my liver cake in the oven but a friend at agility says she just microwaves hers for 15 minutes.
I think if you chop the plain liver up and microwave for 10 minutes plus, it does go crispy in the end. Seem to remember trying this... :x
I'm veggie too!
