What a beautiful story! It's amazing how soft and gentle such a big dog as a greyhound can be, they have such sweet natures. My greyhound Breeze is surprising me all the time how gentle she is with the tiny little Yorkie we took in and how tolerant she is. We got a little warning growl one...
Oh Dippy - how sad that was! I'm so glad your little chap is enjoying snuggles now. Penny seems to like quite a bit of fuss but she doesn't like me picking her up at the moment and won't sit on my knee for more than a minute or two. She seems to be doing very well though and isn't hiding much...
Thank you all so much for your kind wishes and helpful comments. It's good to be able to find help and reassurance. OK so far with Breeze and Penny, Penny has been more lively today and hasn't hidden much at all. She has a good appetite, which is a hopeful sign. I left the two of them alone...
Have just taken in a 13-year-old Yorkshire terrier made homeless because of bereavement and no-one in their family wanting her. She came to us last night. So far Breeze, our greyhound, has mostly ignored her except for wanting to get at her food! We had quite a successful walk this morning...
So happy to see the lovely photos of Max in the park looking so well! You must be so relieved. He has the same coat as my Breeze, although she looks more like Tiny, being black with a white front and paws. Do you find the coat rubs? Breeze gets a bald patch at the front of her shoulder when...
What good news that Max has his bandage off, although the Christmas tree pictures were fun! I'm so glad for you that he is making good progress, I hope he will be a good boy and get lots of rest and finish the healing process.
All the best to you.
I'm so glad your poor boy is getting better. I said a prayer for him. What a dreadful thing to happen- I worry every time my Breeze charges up and down the stairs because greyhound legs look so brittle. Lots of love to the invalid.
My girl also had this problem when we first got her. It comes back whenever she's upset or stressed. We find she gets on best with Iams for small to medium dogs - for some reason she eats this more happily than the large dog version - but what you're feeding will be just as good. Just give...
My girl has twice caught a hedgehog, picked it up by its prickles and brought it to us. I thought they rolled into balls so dogs couldn't get hold of them? Anyone else have this happen?
Hello. We adopted our lovely girl in April, she'd been in RSPCA kennels for 9 months. We went for the folded duvet option for a bed, which is fine during the day but she spends the night pushing us out of our bed. I got her a lovely lined raincoat for the cooler days and a "blizzard coat"...
