How important an issue is breeding in "non-ped racing" some dogs in the past have carried 7/8s G/hnd & been classed as whippets. As for lurchers breeding can go anyway, lot's of the Saluki "crosses" look near as dammit full Saluki's. It's dog's running on football fields after rags & string ffs...
Heart of England race at Shuttington just outside Tamworth at least they did last year. Nice friendly club club with helpful members. They have a forum under ped racing clubs with contact details.
Thnk's for the info. Had a chat with the KC this morning & they were very helpful & are sending me a few information packs.
Thank's once again

Just wondered if the KC has lightened up on it's rules about staging shows. I seem to remember there were pretty tight rules about showing KC reg dog's.
It's the same thing John. Good medical treatment, surgery can help if performed early enough. Laser treatment etc if you are too late. It doesn't look too bad. One of ours had a tremendous amount of discolouration all his leg was black he lost about a yard. One of our others was completely...
Have to go with the flow John "dropped muscle" curse of fast dog's never known a slow one have it happen. Cold day like Sun. only helps it, the big muscled dog's need lot's of warming up.
Hope I'm wrong.

Seriously though, its nothing personal, we have a policy of not lowering anyone's warn levels for that reason. Why else would anyone want it lowered ;) And what would have been the point in giving it in the first place if we did?
Also, Midlander Keith's 90% warn has nothing to do with free...
They don't!! The people who breed 'em & tout 'em like to say they are different but they ain't. Some dogs have an aptitude to work some don't & they can come from any breeding. A dog doesn't have to be that fast to pick a flushed rabbit up, a lamped rabbit is a different matter but you still...
So sorry to hear this John. We didn't know you were facing this problem, what a start to the year. You've always done right by him we're sure you will continue to do the right thing.
Good Luck to you both.

Stormydog has a dog that has undergone chemo recently but I think he has been struck off this list. I saw this dog last year after his first bout of chemo & he looked very well.
Hope your dogs aren't in need of this treatment.
Whippets looked very fast and could turn on a six pence - this made a fantastic spectator sport - but if the hare fancied it just changed gear and in a straight line left the Whippets in its wake!

I agree with most of your observations Rob, but there are Hares & there...
what would you class as wrong hands ???? ;)

I'm surprised you've waited so long for an answer!! For once some of the "experts" on this forum seem stumped for guff

Was that one of the "Wheeling Whippets" ? owned by the late Jean Ulchy (English born) they produced a few good b & w's. Look in the whippet champions books & count the b&w's in them. Most succesful one was Peperone Pacesetter at Gilnockie less there's been one since we lost interest. I was once...
