Our girls are now 14 1/2 months old and although the work has been huge having sisters, they are a continuing, constant source of joy for my husband and myself.
Thanks for your help, we certainly need it.
They have been in all positions in the vehicle other than driver’s seat!! Ornie has been sick every single time within a mile or so. The back seat is actually down so the crate occupies the space where the seats would normally be.
Thanks for the...
Many thanks for the ginger thoughts- I’ve intended to try it as it works for me if I’m feeling queasy and take a ginger capsule. I will definitely try it but haven’t really thought it would help because Ornie gets so sick and not just queasy. However, anything’s worth a try! We were planning to...
Our lovely whippet sisters are now one year old and still suffer car sickness even for a one mile drive. We have tried making these short trips on a daily basis but it hasn’t improved the matter. Ornie is the one who really suffers although this morning we tried taking both Ornie and Sassi for...
We use a naturally based repellent and this works so long as I reapply every few days. It is not harmful to them nor us. At first they were worried by it as a spray and now I simply pour small amounts into my hand and rub it around. I would gladly share the name (from Mercola Market) but it I...
Thank you, Hemlock, Sassi has finally managed to fill the dog-hole in my heart that my Mildred left almost 10 yrs ago even though there’s been dogs I’ve really loved since.
Further to the treats topic, whilst I’ve been sitting here my husband just sent me a screen shot and said this looks exactly what we make for our Sassi and Orni! It was being served in a Michelin star restaurant!
Sounds like you’ve got the knack! Well done and I’m sure Mabel is delighted! I wish our girls were easier to feed. They love the sweet potatoes but recently have rebelled so far as our culinary efforts go. I’ve been thinking of starting a new topic to try to get some ideas. They were all raw...
We’ve just tested and reckon it’s 70C and we left the very thin sweet potatoes in today for about 6-8 hours. This results in a lovely crisp and crunchy snack.
We will put a thermometer in the low oven we use and let you know as my husband and I both feel that 150 fan could be a good bit higher than ours and obviously lower temperature would use less electricity.
We have found that food in the oven doesn’t smell in our house but it does go out the vent into the garden. That’s not always a good thing as many a time part of our evening meal is discovered within the Aga the next evening as blackened remains!
Well, that was hit and miss at first but usually we get it pretty good now with very few failures and even fewer that weren’t edible. We’ve now started putting very thinly sliced sweet potatoes in either first thing and taking them out evening time or overnight. Trial and error but do the first...
We have been doing dried treats for our girls since they were very young. We first did sweet potatoes and when those were a great hit we moved on to other things. We tried carrots and green beans, they love these, too. We have done chicken and liver. The liver is a constant and on Monday I’m...
