Kennel Club To Clamp Down On Breeders

I'm not sure if some of these traits are just recently 'gone'. I have a reprinted book first published in the 1870s which show pictures of some of these breeds that have been 'ruined'. The picture of the pug looks remarkably like the ones we see today as does the pekinese. The bassets, while...

I Finally Got A Photo Of Her!

Thanks Lida. I like both girls equally as each has her own strengths. Gemmel attended the National Dog Show today (results posted on this list) but while she went well, the judge was not putting up parti-colours nor American types. The lighting at the indoor venue was very yellow so white...

I Finally Got A Photo Of Her!

I finally got an acceptable photo of Dott (Above the Law for Belge). She is 7 months old today. A few weeks ago I posted photos of Gemmel, Dott's sister. I bred the litter by my UK import, Barmaud's Mr Rumpole out of an Australian bitch whose dam was the result of the breeding between Whipcat...

Yes, they take turn about but we don't have many shows at this time of the year so they have only been to one show each. I hope to get photos of sister Dott later this month.

    Gemmel's Show Debut

She is lovely but then I am biased! o:) What I particularly like abiout her is that she's on track to finiosh off at about 46cm (a little over 18 inches) which is becoming a rarity here in New Zealand.

    Gemmel's Show Debut

One of the girls I kept from my litter by Barmaud's Mr Rumpole (imp UK) and a Calahorra bitch made her show debut yesterday. I was extremely pleased with how she handled a very new situation and was calm and collected throughout the day. She needs ring experience but that will come in time. :D

    Frozen Semen Ai Success

Molly asked I imported two lots of frozen whippet semen 10 years ago. The first lot was not viable when thawed after bringing it to New Zealand. When that semen turned out a dud, I had my bitch inseminated with the other semen from a German bred dog. No litter eventuated. :( I haven't...
