I attended the whippet congress in 2008 in Sweden and remember the next one was to be in Australia in 2012. Where can I find more info? My Google skills fail me.
I believe the next congress will be in Germany in 2015 - heard from the Facebook grapewine, nothing I could pinpoint by Googling...
Thanks for the news! What beautiful dogs.
In theory, full results should appear here: http://www.skj.sk/wds_09/php_vysledky_plem...lemenovyber=162
But I don't think it's likely to find anything there before tomorrow (because today you can see yesterday's results).
Oh, that would be very nice! I know he'll have to be on maintenance dosage for the rest of his life - he relapses, we tried that - and my vet thinks it's probable the condition will get more severe over time, needing upgrade of dosage. I mean, we're talking about years and years here. Hopefully...
My whippet was diagnosed with eosinophilic bronchopneumopathy.
A good description of the condition: http://www.nic.fi/~hra/Translations/Eosinophilic.htm
I had never heard of it. My vet had never heard of sighthounds having it. I guess I'm overall lucky we finally pinned it down and he's much...
We had the joy of visiting these lovely young rascals yesterday. A wonder we left without one!
http://www.zone.ee/jasmin/puppies.htm - that site's not been mentioned yet. New pics of brindle girl in new home. :)
Thanks, Sidewinders! And yep, Sonis is my puppy's his dad.
Tim's son from Latvia, this year's European junior winner lives in Tartu. Vera is also in the picture there with him, third from left. Teodor (Circus Maximus) is a very sweet guy, loves to be petted, a real mother's boy. Huzzah for Tim!
Congrats to all winners! :luck:
My whippet puppy was the last of 5 boys. He was in the ring with a handler. If anyone noticed them and could offer a few comments (about the dog or the handling), I'd appreciate it.
I was in Poznan with both boys, but having to show my IG myself I was such a...
Jan, I've never seen this term before and Google give didn't anything useful either - could you describe it? The IG club health survey 2004 also gives abnormal dentition as a problem, I'm also surprised about that. Any idea what kind of abnormal dentition?
IG bone density was mentioned somewhere...
OK, I'm intrigued. I'm living with an IG and a whippet in Eastern Europe. I have read Internet sites all over, as well as another IG forum and IG list. But apart from the issues of dog size and allowed colors I'm not sure how different the breed situations everywhere are. Could you elaborate on...
Wow. Cropping, docking and removing dewclaws has been all classified as cosmetic here since 2001 and vets are forbidden to do this. I know many still did that illegally (dobe pups were sill sold cropped and docked; it's stopped now because they ruled you can't show a local born local owned...
I am Liisa from Tartu, Estonia. Together with my brother Sander we currently own two male sighthounds. We have been into dogs for two years only so very much novices. It's fun to see I've been to the home pages of some members.
