There are pups for sale of the above cross in my local paper. I cannot imagine what they look like. What do any of you think? How about working? Big shot in the dark anyone got a pic of that cross.

    Pure Saluki

Thanks for all the info you two, I will search about for one. I bet they fetch good money for a pure. Thanks again.

    Pure Saluki

We may be after one, if pure saluk'is are still about. I don't know massive amounts about the saluki although our 1 year old lurcher is half one. Is there a pure white or light coloured? I saw one the other day and it looked like a ghost going across the feild. pup preferred but around 1 year...

    Wanted Bull.... Or Saluki

Hi all how are you? We are after a good quality bull greyhound pup or around the 1 year mark. We cannot decide either the above or a real good quality Saluki pup. ( a bit of a difference I know) We will also add a thread on the saluki forum for one of them. Will travel miles for a gooden! if...

    A good solid dog.

    Ace

Thanks for your comments. Compared to my 2 full Greys, he is allot more strong and solid. He can run full whack across a uneven field and be fine. The greys may become lame after that sort of run. I don't think he will ever be as fast as the greys but the speed he does he can do all day. Who...

    Ace

Update on Ace @ 8 months old. He has been showing lots of interest in catching things, got a rat last week. Today though I was a bit worried when he chased and got hold of a stoat :o . He did get the better of it and didn't give in even when it hung on his mouth. Infact I'm lucky thats all...

    Ace.

Well it's been a long hard winter, and not the best time of year to have a young pup. But here he is at 7 months. I also have 2 Greys, you really can tell he has another breed in him, more vocal but not bark vocal, howl vocal. He not a nervous dog as such but if you tell him off he takes things...

    To Far?

Thanks for the advice, I think I will leave it for now. I never know how far to push him. He is so big for 6 months, I sometimes forget he is still a pup. Thanks again.

    To Far?

Had an offer to go on a hard 3 hour run/walk with my hounds tomorrow. Would that be too much for my 6 month old lurcher?

    Advice Needed

Prevention is better than cure. My oldest GH got a chill last year and he laid about for about a week, I mean more than he normally does, didn't eat much, didn't want to know much. Most other dog breeds either have fur, fat, or both. GH/lurcher/whippet don't. The bit I hate about coats, mine...

One last pic of that dog, maybe at an older age as he seems a bit...

    Hello - New Member

Mine do get raw meat, but not as a full diet just when we have scraps from the kitchen, they do sometimes get raw turkey legs though, as you can get a whole leg for about £1.20 from the super markets. They are mostly on dry and what ever we eat that is left, if you have a hound then nothing is...

    When Dogs Were Dogs

See pic of my grandfather's lurcher(greyhound x whippet) from over 50 years ago. In those days the dog helped feed the family, not the other way around. The dog was sent to him as a puppy in a brown box, from up north on a train. The stories he told when I was a child about this dog made me...

    Parvo

The one thing I fear, in keeping dogs. I had a vaccinated Jack russle a few years back get it, and too this day I have never seen something so ill, only 6 months old as well. But he did pull through. Mt cousine's norfolk has just got over viles, he said that was not a pretty site. Cost him...

    Joint Burning.

Anyone heard of a practice of burning the joints in racing greys. My black and white has burns on his front legs and so has a friends. A vet told me it's done to lengthen the joint life. Anyone else?
