Thanks everyone for their helpful replies.
It is all fitting together now. Needed to stand back and watch their behaviour yesterday evening, Pepper tried it a few times last night but then things settled considerably.
I do wonder if I would be doing the right thing by bringing the other bitch...
Hope someone can help me with this one. Bit long winded - Sorry!!!
You may remember I adopted Billie the whippet a while ago but things sadly didn't work out as she became dangerously dominant over my female yorkie so she had to go back to her original home and we were all heartbroken.
We...
Don't know but they were beautiful.
As I was talking to the lady one of the whippets just got down from a chair and wandered off down the walkway as if it didn't have a care in the world.
Iggys were beautiful aswell!
How heartbreaking for you.
You may recall I had Billie the whippet here, she started to attack Tiny my yorkie, it wasn't nice and we tried everything to get control of the situation and asked for help on K9 (which we receive in abundance - thanks to all)
Unfortunately Billie went back to her...
I posted on discussion a while back as I had adopted another whippet and she was picking on my yorkie who is normally the boss.
Things sadly didn't work out and Billie went back to her owner. :(
Harry the whippet and Tiny the yorkie absolutely adore eachother, they go everywhere together and...
Yes, my friend has seen it, the problem being I have to intervene apparently because Billie pins Tiny down from the back of her neck and she cannot move to retaliate and put Billie in her place. It therefore lies to me to tell her "no". If she just went around her neck Tiny would be able to...
Thank you so much for the advice. I have tried the pebbles in a coke can idea but Billie seems to be "on a mission" when it comes to Tiny and nothing will stop her.
When she has done it infront of me I have said "NO" really sharply and a friend who is a behaviourist has said to hold her by the...
Billie the whippet joined our family a couple of months ago, she is just over a year old and has fitted in beautifully apart from....
She is being extremely dominant over my 3 year old yorkie bitch. Tiny the yorkie can hold her own but Billie keeps going up behind her, pinning her down then...
Oh congratulations!!
I have had lots of Sylvias dogs here for fostering and most have been breeding or puppy farm dogs that are not lead trained and don't even know how to eat out of a bowl - it is so sad to see. They usually pick it up within a few days when they realise you care about them...
I have just bought mine on e-bay.
Oh my two whippets are going to look gorgeous on their beige striped hammock.
Thank you for the link!!! My hubby might kill me now!!
Hello,
I have been following this thread - hoping Jill is on the mend.
To cut a very long story short (as it can be!) we have adopted another whippet and have received an e-mail from her previous owner saying both yourself and JulieD have Billies sisters!!
Would love to see some pictures and...
Hello,
Don't think I have posted on here before, I don't normally have anything "useful" to say. But here goes.
I foster for a rescue. My two dogs (Whippet and yorkie) are routinely vax'd (inc KC). To say I was upset and confused when I had a litter of pups in that were KC vax'd and Harry...
Hello,
I always lurk - never knowing what to say but I actually have some good advice. YYYIIIIPPPEEEEEEEE.
I walk a GSD that is vegetarian and was looking for treats for him, I came across some treats called Green Ems, thought obviously they were vegetarian but NO, they have a mineral in them...
