I had been led to believe from someone that the nationals field has 'moved on' from that litter and are now concentrating on the running of their racing bred whippets. At least that was what I was told from a dear friend who happens to run there and not here!!
So, as the comment was willingly...
I note that you have stated that the passport system is the route by which entries are deemed acceptable so I pose the following:-
Who, in the WCRA gave you permission to use their passport system - bearing in mind that the passport remains the property of the WCRA? Petty and small minded ...
I have read through the thread:-
If there is no mole within the WCRA committee, where do the opinions of the WCRA committee on Sunday, for example come from? If not from a mole then someone made them up for effect.
The WCRA sub committee of The Whippet Club was not formed to 'serve whippet...
As this has become personal .... It is possible to dip in and dip out of whippet racing and STILL have an opinion ........ and if whippet racers are hell bent on getting new people to join them, then asking them to make sure they sing from the same hymn sheet as them all the time may not be the...
:( Exactly ---- you have illustrated my point most clearly. Good management of a racing whippet is paramount. If you recall, at the beginning of this post, the lady concerned said how much she enjoyed seeing her dog free running and that she was inclined to give racing a go ...... that the...
:( Uhhmmnn, (well, ignoring the fact that a personal comment was made about me earlier on in this thread good job I have a boat so I missed it and I thought that attacking another person by name is not allowed), here goes ....
I'm very pleased to read that you enjoyed your day, but I go back...
:( I'm going to be the harbinger of doom here - yep, there's always one! Racing a whippet is not for the faint hearted, neither is it for those of us who believe that our dogs should have a dog's life - ie free running, be trained, have fun, eat for their body weight etc. Racing a whippet is...
You may recall earlier in the year I asked if you would pm me with contact details of any artists you had commissioned as Phil was having his favourite dog painted as his retirement present from his co-workers. Many of you kindly sent me responses and Phil chose an artist whose style he liked...
Don't do Mustos myself - I go for lightweight, breathable, waterproof and windproof - sailing kit is good as they have cuffs that don't let the wet in! They are also more affordable than the horsey stuff! As is the high viz kit used on the railway. That is very good too!
I do know someone with a whippet who has symptoms that sound exactly as described on the website. From what that owner has experienced, I would say that the last paragraphs give an accurate picture of what she does, keeps it under control and gives pred and an antibiotic when necessary...
Well, I have read the topic and have to admit that I have lost the plot, from what I read, the jacket of the dog was changed from blue to red, when the race was run the judges put the red jacket in 3rd place, (this does not in any way alter the result of the race, if the red jacket was 3rd, then...
You are saying that 26% of bitches get mammary tumors if allowed to have two seasons. What absolute total and utter rubbish.
I was under the impression that this figure of 26% was taken from a veterinary surgeon's site, in which case, one would assume the professional in question had done a...
The biological washing liquid/powder I too have found to be the most effective. Make up a strongish solution, well-wet it and than leave it for 10-15 mins for the bio bits to work on the pee and then rinse off. If you take it off too quickly the odour will still be in the carpet.
I also use...
..... instead of the usual over-exaggerated inbred & over-exaggerated nonsense like us doggy folk normally have to tolerate around the time of Crufts
What is over exaggerated about bull dogs and pugs being so 'expertly' bred that they can't breathe properly? And all for the show ring.... and...
Wasn't it that it was accepted at the WC AGM - only then to be shelved by them not being able to get the go ahead from the KC?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
No, wrong way round it would seem! The KC agreed to the adoption of a rule - this rule was accepted at the 2007 AGM. Racing club secs would, I...
To clarify the matter, it WAS voted upon at the 07 AGM and accepted for insertion into the rules of racing. (My apologies if I misled anyone). The crux of this is that because it WAS accepted at the WC AGM it is adopted as a rule unlike the 'talk-in' where any votes taken have no validity...
In the words of Homer, Doh! We were not given the wording last year, only a very lengthy talk on the non whippet characteristic of large litters, large numbers of registrations from dogs which, on paper at least, could NOT possibly have produced that colour coat etc. But at no time either in...
But there has been no movement either way has there? It's not yet been included in the rules of racing which is the very least WC members might expect from the 2007 AGM!
