Actually although he didn't like the travel cage he did like the car journey. We took his spare cage and his play stand so he wasn't stressed and he seemed to like the change of scenery. Hes been away with us twice.
Aha clarity... Well then I would schedule a time with the vet when they do have time and can get those bloods done.
For her sake you need to find out whats causing her problems.
To add to that I think I would be going to see another vet if they know she's been having repeated fevers and issues and didn't see that any urgency in getting a blood test done I'd be slightly worried.

There are various reasons why that could happen if the supply chain is not good or of your protocols are not super strict . Plus of course there may be dogs who cant tolerate it. My dog cant have beef.

As someone with two hunting breeds I know that they walk nicely until theres a scent or a beastie running across our path. Then its tally ho and they are on full tracking/ hunt mode.
