and .... what were the results of the whippets? Or was everyone too busy passing motions to be exhibiting their dogs????

All I can remember is :

The Talkabout boys were CC & Res. Colin was BOB with a junior bitch. Also I can not remember a judge & BOB winner huging & a bit of tounge on the ear for a long time. Has anybody else seen such emotion befor?

Judge was Mr. Usherwood from USA. His breed is Italian Greyhounds.

Sunbury show on Monday. Runner up in SHOW was the Devine dog from Queensland. Molly was Best Bitch. :- " (ie. Bitch CC.)

Sue Delaney was Baby in Group.

&

&

&

PUPPY IN GROUP WAS CARTMAN'S Skyeway Silver Screen

So there you go. Not all the results but the best goss. o:)

Congratulations to Colin! Which bitch Colin? - put a piccy up, come on!

What about your win Cartman? And Suzi! Congrats too to Vicki and Molly. Whippets did well hey? Did you not take some pics? Cartman, did you put "digital camera" on your wish list to Santa?

Emotion? I cry when my dogs win something special - can't help it, just happens. :b I cried for Makybe Diva yesterday :b :b :b :D

Charlene.

Good on ya Charlene- nearly everyone I talked to cried when the Diva won. I didn't because I was watching it in a room full of brats- about 80 of them stuffed into 1 classroom with a TV reception- not everyone gets a public holiday!!

Sounds like a very exciting win at the dog show also! Any pics?

Do you know that is one of THE BEST things about not teaching anymore - I get to watch the Cup in peace! The only shouting is my own. :D

What cup was that then . Lana :- "

Not held in Melbourne was it ;)

Thanks for the Congrats Lana and many thanks to the massive cheer squad on the day.. with their chants of "go-oh black Betty, bam-a-lam.." (especially Miss Molly's gang - thanks gals!).

It was a huge thrill, especially at a record entry Hound Show with 75 whippet from all over Australia.. More importantly, it was an encouraging achievement for solid Blacks !!!

The winning bitch was my 'Elvira' - Ibiza Viva La Vida (sister of the blue BJIS winner 'Emilia' - a 'Broom' daughter out of my black 'Vida'). 'Elie' was my only coloured whippet without a Challenge, making even the CC a huge surprise.

When the judge chose us for BOB (over the Grand Champ 'Paris'), I almost collapsed! This now makes my entire solid colour, show team pointed!! In fact, all my CCs have been under overseas or Hound Specialist Judges.

The judge was Mr Usherwood (USA) who is an Italian Greyhound breeder. There was another bonus in that the French judge doing General Specials chose Elie in the final 8 for BIS !!! It went to one of Robyn Davidson's Borzois.

Congratulations to all the other class winners and placers and to Tony, Allan & Molly for 'Paris', who all seemed very happy for Elie's win (unlike some..)

I have the full results if anyone is interested. Take care all.

Colin

Well , put them on then Colin

Might be a pain , but thats what WE do over here  and some pics would be good too ;)

Hi Jax,

I've only just checked the UK board this morning.

I know you usually get all the results for our shows too, but I thought they would have been posted by one of the other, more diligent local K9ers by now, as many were there and are usually quick to get home and immediately post details.

My marked catalogue is at my new place and I will not be there again till later today so sorry Jax, will get them listed as soon as I can get there and back to this computer.

It's been a busy week for most of us so delayed details are understandable, but it seems some show results are worth posting, but not all..

I don't have a recent pic of 'Elie' but will get one soon and gladly post it for you.

Regards,

Colin

 Huge Congratulations to you Colin and to Elvira on her BOB and for making the cut for Best in Show - she looked a treat in the line-up

I hear congratulation of another kind are in order also. All the best for the newest Ibiza litter - first to be born at the new home of Ibiza - Hope mum and pups are all doing well.

 Congratulations also to Suzi and Cartman who both obviously had a nice time at Sunbury...well done.

Thanks Louise; Big Congrats to you too!! Very well done. I appreciate your post and yes, the new babies are here! They arrived yesterday and all 8 are doing very well. 'Diva' has been an amazing mum and you may be interested to know that they are all BLACK (with some white trim), including a lovely Black & White parti boy.

Jax; sorry for the delay and there is a correction needed. It turns out that it was not 'Paris' that took the Dog Challenge but a "Talkabout" dog from the PUPPY Dog class.! 'Paris' took Reserve Dog. Well done Molly, Tony & Allan. Congrats also to Allan Adams for his Bitch CC and all his other wins that day (onya Al!)

I was in such an elated state after getting the BCC, that I never even looked at the dog in front.. (had missed the Dog CC judging while in preparation for the BCC line-up).

Needless to say, when the judge pointed to us for BOB, I was ecstatic; so much so, I couldn't help myself.. yes; I hugged Mr Usherwood (I confess Cartman), although there was no tonguing of the judge in the ring (or anywhere else)..

Huge Congrats to Thatcher and to Vicki his owner- good to see a Qlder go well.

How fitting that a bitch named "Diva" had her litter Melbourne Cup week.

You'll have to name them all after Cup winners.......Ibiza Think Big, Ibiza Black Night, Ibiza Nightwatch, Ibiza Empire Rose.....the list goes on.

Glad to hear Mum and pups are doing well.

Thanks for that Lou. Congrats again on Halle.

Great name suggestions, only thing is that it's my "J" litter and I need an overall 'theme' name that begins in the letter 'j'.

You've mentioned before how much you like my names but this time I'm stuck; can't seem to think of one.. maybe a Horse racing 'j' word, which is fitting, as I usually base it on the dam's name (Diva).

Any suggestions?

Take care all and have a good week.

Jezabeel is the only one that comes to mind beginning with "J" oooh and Just a Dash and Jeune - Jockey is the quintessential horseracing 'j' word.

I'm sure you'll have fun chosing...Good luck.

See you Sunday,

Lou.

Here is a link with a few (w00t) horse names starting with J, unfortunately I don't know which ones are race horses................
