I'm back in body but not in spirit. :( The south coast of NSW is absolutely gorgeous at this time of year.

The circuit was Sapphire Coast at Wolumla near Pambula - 4 shows and Bega Valley held at Bermagui - 3 shows and Cobargo had 1 show. We did all but 1 at Sapphire Coast.

Whippet exhibitors over the shows were made up of:

Jodabry (Brad)

Skyeway (Anne Marie)

Peperone (Angela)

Berinswift (Janice)

Mikshar (Lesley & Shannon)

Ridgesetter (John & Toni)

Have left catalogues at home but whippets fared well with many Best In Groups but sadly, and we found it strange, all Hounds were ignored at the In Show level except for 2 shows. Not everyone showed at all shows but basic results are:

Alice took 4 BIG's over the shows, Cherry (Ch Perepone Love of Gold) took one and Brad's Junior Jodabry bitch got 2 I think with a RUBIS at one of the Sapphire Coast shows. Ch Mikshar Bobby McGee took a RUBIG last Sunday. I'll dig out CC's and post separately.

Our minor girl, Piper took 2 Minor Groups and her brother, Connor got from memory, 4 challenges and several Puppy In Groups. We were thrilled that our Baby RR won his age class with strong competition in all but one show and got I think 4 or 5 Baby In Groups. Peaches, our Saluki, was able to win Bitch CC but only converted to a BOB at one show. Zani our RR girl managed a couple of challenges and several reserves. (RR's were strong with an average entry of 30.)

At the Bermagui shows, my old girl, Spice, (Ch Ridgesetter Sugar N Spice) came 2nd in the first Veteran sweeps and 1st the next day and I was really thrilled and excited with those wins. She's not been well over the last year but she loves her annual holiday down there but I told her she has to work for it just like the rest of us. :p

The shows were only one part of the trip. We've been going down there for over 10 years now. The dogs love running on the beach and we love the weather, food, wine and fishing! (The dogs enjoyed their salmon too.)

The shows prosper and encourage camaraderie and friendliness and exhibitors often socialise together of an evening and are ready and willing to assist each other at the shows. Something quite rare at most shows.

Back to the grind now as I save money and make time up for my next holiday.

Cheers

TC

Way to go Spice

Showed today. Skyeway in Caberet. Best of Breed under Mz. M. Hoy.

Congrats Cartman on your BOB- under a breed specialist no doubt!! I'm sure I can call Ms Hoy a whippet specialist can't I?

Heard that Geoff Love picked up Best in Group at each of the 3 northern NSW shows this weekend- not sure of other results. Think his dog Zane (can someone add his name?) also picked up RUBIS one of the days also. Well done Geoff.

Gajo, that one you would be safe. I have known her for over 35 years, & can not remember her even having another breed.

Not heard from Geoff this week, will try to see what he is up to.

Do know the Dreamchamber girl he has will be heading about as far west as you can go without getting wet.

Congrats to Vicki Page and daughter Kelsey from Wingham (Taree NSW) as Levi is now officially known as AUST CH RIDGESETTER CELTIC PRIDE. Levi has been handled to his championship by Kelsey so it's a real and genuine thrill for her.

Many of my RR friends have taken a whippet from me and often forward stories of whippet antics and that their RR's never do this or that. Vicki has some funny stories of how Levi has enriched her life. Recently, upset at being left home, he let himself out of his pen, invited himself inside and helped himself to the dirty clothes basket in the laundry. He then proceeded to arrange all their undies around the back yard and sat there waiting. On arriving home, Vicki found it highly amusing but her daughters were horrified at Levi's latest trick.

Then there is the story of Vicki had visitors looking at a horse early one morning and Levi jumped up and caught her track pants pulling them down. Vicki can explain what the visitors saw! :b

Levi is out of Muttley (Ch Peperone Flying Scotsman) and my sweet Panda (Mwandani Tyrensa).

Cheers

Congrats on the new Ridgesetter Ch

Well done to all concerned

Congratulations to Ridgesetter Knl's and your connections - Levi sounds like quite a character as well as a champion showdog! :D

Congrats to Cartman too on Skyeway In Cabaret's BOB above.
