Hope you guys aren't getting the high winds we're getting with this rain, almost feels like a cyclone here. The dogs are determine that they aren't going out side, I have to chase them out so they go to the toilet.

There was some wind and flood damage and roads cut in around Mackay and around us out here but all we got (right where I live) was heavy rain - not much wind at all - and the creek didn't come up as high as it did the other week when I posted the photos.

Yep you got it right Lana- Laddie (L Labarum) took CC and Charlie (lyrical Lad) Res CC the first day and they swapped around the next day. Thanks for the congrats guys. Was great to see all whippet exhibitors being thanked and congratulated on both days by the two Judges on the overall quality of the whippets shown over the weekend. The sportsmanship and friendliness of the exhibitors towards one another was top class!

Sunday The Victorian Whippet Association Inc Breed Competition (parade) judged" Ms Tania Kirkland.

I haven't been on K9 for some time, however, in answer to your enquiry Lyndhurst Canine Country Club are holding their All Breeds Championship Show. Overall entry of 1100. We are fortunate to have Mr Ben Reynolds-Frost (UK) judge Group 4 except for Basenjis. Ben has an entry of 211 Hounds which is a Koo these days as exhibitors mostly don't come out under 'locals'. :b Ben is also judging the Basenji Specialty the following weekend.

I hope he enjoys his assignment here. Expected temperature of a warm 29deg. :sweating:

huge congrats :cheers: to Eva Ekstam & Ian Smith and celine - Ch ronndal Copycat on winning her 50cc and 3rd Best In show today, which makes her now a NZ Grand Champion!!!

That brings the total of 10 Gr Ch whippets in NZ, and the 4th one owned by Ronndal Whippets.

Hi Cass,

Yes I'm fine, as in PM just sick of the rain, rain and guess what rain :wacko: ......we're in for another storm tonight by the looks of things.

Can't mow the lawn ..... not that the dogs seem to mind their playing hide and seek with of course Amigo being the one to initiate the game.

I think it's time for the bottom half of Oz to have the rain, don't you think.

Hopefully it will all slow down and give us a break, especially for Mackay and inbetween

Today I think I experienced EVERY single emotion god has instilled in my body.

The day started off dreadfully with every whippet owners nightmare... Brie & Sage decided to give their mother a minor heart attack :unsure: - they escaped from the motel, turned on their hound ears & went burning off in the distance along a busy main highway. I have never felt such panik strike before, by the time I had run from the back of the motel onto the main highway, they were no where to be seen We had people on the road slowing down cars and about another 15 trying to find them then in a flash they appear zooming down the road :sweating: They screamed back into the motel with that "hunting" glaze & before anyone could catch them - bolted off again... This drama went on for about 10 minutes in total & I have to say, it felt like a lifetime - they were hyped up having a ball and totally not catchable. Then in total Brie fashion - she stopped immediately for a pee :blink: Sage then decided she was so stuffed from zooming around & now her mate was having a cuddle, that it was her time to chill out & launched herself at us - I am sure my heart only just began to beat at that moment.

So now we are running late for the show... then Miss 8yr old steps in the biggest dog turd - it splattered everywhere & do you think we could find any wipes???? Well of course we couldn't coz the kids had used them the day before & left them in the trolley at the show :rant: I mean, why on earth would you put them back in the show bag?????

However......................... the day ended on the biggest high I have ever experienced, today Kate (10yrs old) piloted young Holly (Kana-ka Don't Ask Directions To Shenace) to win the CC, she went on & took out BOB - however, the winning wasn't over..... then she won BOG :cheers: But the total icing on the cake was BEST IN SHOW :wub: :cheers: (w00t)

What a day - photo's will follow - it is an undescribably proud moment to watch the offspring achieve such an amazing award :wub: I am now hearing comments about me retiring etc.... I think NOT - I reckon the kid may have to stay at home if she keeps this up - I mean, 2 x BOG's within a few weeks is really pushing the limits :wub:
