There have been four dogs as well as several cats and rabbits advertised for rehoming on our local Freecycle group over the last week or so.
One of the dog ads said 'must be gone by Christmas'
One of the others made a big deal about how sad they were, how their 'beloved' dog must go to 'the best possible home' - then posted half an hour later to say the dog had gone
All the rescues and pounds are gearing themselves up for the Christmas rush - old dogs start getting chucked out about now, new puppies start coming in any time from January onwards.
The Dogs Trust figures for strays put to sleep in our local authority pounds say it all - nearly 8,000 this year http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/press_office/s...007/statistics/
