I took the girls up to the greyhound track today to give them a good blast as they aren't competing this week. As it was nice and sunny I took the camera which was actually quite interesting, as I have never noticed that Josie seems to come out of the traps much better than Nana, I have always got the feeling that she came out second and finished second.

The traps open :- "

Coming up the first straight Josie has a slight lead :)

WOW!!!!,just look at those muscles on beautiful Nana

Fantastic

There was a third dog in the race. Where I hear you ask. Well it seems she got a little confused........

However to her credit she did her damndest to catch up and then to make up for it did a further 2 circuits of the track without the hare, Nana joined her for the first one then came back to me.

I'm sure Nana goes to the gymn in her spare time. She looks so powerful. Nice photos

That last photo is so funny.

Great photos Olivia. Nana's certainly got some muscle has she not (w00t) ... they look terrific at full stretch.

Were there other dogs there, or can you just go and give it a shot yourself.??

It's a track that runs trials every wednesday and Sunday mornings. Mainly greyhounds, but a few whippets. You just queue up for your turn and they time the dogs runs, but this seems very variable as they can look good and get bad time (like today) or look slow and get good times, I think the condition of the track effects it alot.

Wow, Id love to give my dogs a go too. dont know what they would make of traps though - they have never been even near one. (w00t)

Fantastic animals and fantastic photos. 8)

I love the fact that the other dog got mixed up and then did an extra two laps, as if trying to make up for a late start, lol. :teehee:

Edit: Double post. Pics are so good I just had to say it twice. :p

and how did you manage to get the photos at the starting gate?

the hounds usually set off so fast (if facing the right direction)!
