Just to clarify a rumour.

In 2007 we had 4 weeks non stop rain leading up to our event, the entrance onto the field was boggy to say the least but the track was covered for days leading up to the event so that the rain drained off - the track ran well all weekend and held up amazingly.

This is the only year there has been a problem with access to the field, although there were still cars & caravans able to park on the field.

This year about a dozen times it has come back to me via our members that people have approached them with concerns about being unable to get on/off the field with caravans. I can assure you this is not a concern at all this year, although we have had a lot of rain, we've also had a lot of sun & wind, which is perfect for the track. Two years ago the maintenance lease of the football fields was taken over by the football club and this year they have done huge amounts of work opening up existing drains and also laying new ones. On the football field a carpark has been laid which is there should we wish to use it for caravans/parking for our racing weekend.

I hope this stops any doubts about the accessibility of the track / fields. We as a club have no concerns about access for the opens!

Been over to the field today and the track is spongy but not too wet. The rest of the field is looking good to put caravans on - hard in places.

Enquiries about the local hotels accepting dogs. The Greyhound Hotel doesn't but the Travelodge does (for a charge).

Light showers yesterday and sunny/windy today, the track's looking great and was cut tonight and being rolled tomorrow (Jacqui's got some pic's)

Football training will be going on, on part of the field until 8.30 tomorrow so any caravans arriving before then will need to go on the hardstanding until they've gone. A & T members will be there to show you where water / toilet facilities are.

Forecast for the next few days.

Taken tonight by Jacqui, field where the camping will be.
