I've enjoyed almost every day of this cold snap we're having. :D

It started the week before Christmas...here's a view from my window at the first snows falling. You can just make out the local Buxton train going by:

Quite impressive results, even if Fred wasn't too impressed...

It slowly started to disappear over Christmas although it remained very icy underfoot. I was out most days, although didn't take many pictures. Here's a quick shot from the top of a local hill...

And then it started to snow again, it was a bit sleety initially....but we still walked over to a neighbouring town to make the most of it..

And then it really started to snow again overnight on Monday and most of Tuesday....here are some views from the front garden...

The dogs still needed to be walked every day, and sometimes it felt a bit of a chore having to don boots, extra socks, waterproofs, insulating fleeces, hat, gloves, dog coats etc etc a couple of times a day, but today it was a delight in the sunshine....The snow has been blown from the trees now, but here are some scenic pictures from our daily circular walk...

The reservoir is frozen...

and a few randowm pictures of the dogs..and other dogs we bumped into..

Who reckons westies are white...(and Stan gets the same problem collecting mini golf balls on his legs...they don't come off either, they have to melt off):

Hope you enjoyed this rather random selection of snowy shots, some better than others. Still...I enjoyed taking them... :)

Beautiful snowy photos Nicola.  I love the view from your front garden.

I planned to take photos on our walk today, but then forgot my camera. :- It looked so lovely along the canal towpath with the water frozen over. :)

You might regret asking me that.... :p I'm back at work tomorrow, but if the big freeze lasts for a while there's a good chance!

It looks lovely around the reservoir, we have loads here too.

Rafferty also gets ice baubles on his legs, he's constantly stopping to chew at his legs to get rid of them

I have to stand him in a bath of warm water to defrost him after every walk

Gorgeous pictures Nicola...we have had a really long spell havnt we this time...

weve had it too since the week leading up to Christmas and its still snowing like mad tonight.

Lovely photos Nicola  I've taken so many I can't face the thought of sorting out which ones to post on here which is why they all go on Facebook! :- Must pick out a few. As it's the chat pages it's a bit easier to pick ones out without whippets on!

I bumped into a dog groomer in the village today who was looking after a couple of Schnauzers and recommended cutting the toes off socks and pulling them up over their legs to keep them from getting frozen snow attached to them. Don't know if you've tried this or if it works very well but thought I'd pass the info on! ;)

supposed to be bad snow again sunday so get your camera ready !

both my girls schools have been shut so far and are closed again tomorrow , not that i mind :D but enough is enough now , i want it to GO AWAY !!!!!!!!

Poor Rafferty, he gets them quite badly. I do think they get uncomfortable don't they.

That's useful to know...not sure they'd stay up though. Could be worth a try. ;)

I haven't touched my car since before Christmas. Just walking everywhere at the mo' and unfortunately the train has been quite reliable for travelling into Manchester for work. Shame the University insisted on closing for two days. :D

It wasn't Fernilee reservoir Sharon...it's was the one close to where I live. ;) Did you recognise the railway viaduct...? :)

gorgeous pictures Nicola, I'm surpised at Fred going out in it, he's a brave little man.

Poor Stan with the frozen balls, I guess you'd have to peg the two socks together with elastic over his back to keep them on !!

Lots of fantastic pictures, you captured some beautiful shots of your town. I really enjoyed looking through them all :)
