Hi Folks,

Im am looking after a little Blue girl of three years old she is very tiny and we were out in the fields and Finbarr accidently ran into her at high speed, she was screaming so loud!!! but after a while she calmed down but she seemed freaked out

Today she is eating and pooing fine but she seems very subdued and not herself and if i touch her right side she flinches and she just wants to be left alone she is not limping she seems to be bruised can anyone reccommend any home care? obviously if she is still like this tomorrow the vets it will be

hi rachel,i would keep her as comfortable as possible and if you have any painkillers (metacam) i would give her half a tablet a day until you get to the vets, sounds like shes badly bruised and possibly a cracked rib or two.

sending her lots of :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

Thanks Trish, im worried sick!! i really hope she has not cracked a rib do you think she would be unable to walk properly if she had a cracked rib? as she is walking fine , i really hope its just bruising :b

Oh, Rachel. I know how you feel :(

Exactly the same thing happened to Irie last week, we didn't see what he hit, or what hit him, but he started to scream and howl like a banshee. It was terrifying (w00t)

He yelped if he so much as moved for a couple of days - I put him on Rimadyl straight away - and he didn't want to move from the sofa. But he was still eating, drinking and walking normally.

I decided to give him time and, sure enough, around the fourth day he started to want to play again although he yelped if any of the others came near him (they didn't have to touch him  )

It is now a week since, and he is fine  It was his neck that was hurt, muscles in spasm, and he was a lucky boy that it wasn't worse.

Hope your little girlie heals up quickly - it sounds as though it is just bruising, but a pain killer would help her to relax and recover more quickly :luck: :luck: :huggles:

oh my good, poor little girl :(

sorry i dont have any advice i just wanted to wish you luck at the vets really hope its nothing to serious :luck: :luck: :luck:

sending lots of very gentle :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

I have also heard the banshee scream when I accidently shut the fridge door with George's tail in it (I didn't see it!). He screamed and was running around the garden at top speed screaming. Then he started rolling around in agony yelping. I was in tears by the time my husband came home and was hysterically telling him I had broken George's tail. Hubbie was very calm and went over, felt his tail and george did.....nothing!!! No yelping, no moaning, no flinching - in fact he licked Richard! his tail was absolutely fine - but with the banshee scream you would of thought he was dying. It is an awful sound.

Just give her rest and love and if in doubt take her to the vets.

Hope she feels better soon x
