Hope you all had a good time, did take some food but had had pounding headache for three days and still can't get shot of it. Don't know how I did the drive to Brum and back, never mind show the dog!! Didn't help that the slip to the M42 south was shut on the journey home so had to go down the A45, took a lot longer. The OH still bad on his foot (not that you would have noticed when he disappeared for a while :- " ) so he wouldn't have been able to do the clutch in all the traffic.

Looks like you had a good time. Jax....like the new look.

Looks like a great day - lucky people. Jax you do look nice  you all do. ;) Hope you had a good Birthday Debbie too.

He's fairly easy on the eyes that bloke!  What a nice face.  We should see him more often I reckon!  ;)
I am sure that the whippet exhibitors here in the UK would be only too pleased to help subsidise(?sp) his passage to Oz

Yeah that would be right, exporting quality to OZ.

Then the next thing you would be complaining that we dont have any decent studs in the UK. (w00t)

Err-hmm! I said NOTHING about stud work! That's very presumptuous of you Mark! All I said was you were nice to look at! ;)

I wish it had been shut when we left - then I wouldn't have joined it there and written the camper van off 100yds further down.... (w00t) Actually, thinking about it maybe that's why it was shut :(

(w00t) Are you and Judy ok ?? What happened ?

We were in the middle lane and a lorry in the slow lane hit our side/back. That resulted in us starting a spin across 2 1/2 lanes of the motorway, crashing head first into the inside Armco, bouncing off and then ending up straddling the slow and middle lanes facing the oncoming traffic (w00t) How we didn't hit anything else or anything else hit us I'll never know – as those who went down the M42 know it was busy.

Fortunately we were ok, the dogs were 99% ok, Riley cut his head slightly and has a limp, but it could have been a lot worse. It's a very good job the dogs were in built in cages in the van. Every cupboard opened in the van and everything that could move ended up strewn across the floor - it was a scene of devastation in the back.

The worst part was trying to get either the breakdown service or the insurance company to get us back home. Trying to negotiate with them on a mobile phone while parked on the hard shoulder of the M42 after a fairly serious accident is not to be recommended. All that they would offer to do was take us to the nearest garage and then suggested we caught a train back home with 5 dogs and everything we wanted out of the van  After an hour on the phone and then another hours wait a recovery truck eventually arrived - the driver was really good. When he saw we had all the dogs he realised that it just wasn't practical for us to get home any other way other than for him to load up the van onto his breakdown truck and take us home himself - 100+ miles. He radioed back to base and managed to convince them that that was the only thing to be done - so eventually we were on our way...

Now we’ve got to buy a new van and kit it out again.
