hello all. :D I am new to the k9 community and would love to get my two whippets into all agility and flyball and racing things in general. i am from leeds and if there is any meetings for whippets around leeds and stuff, i would love to bring them along and see them in action. Just to get them around other whippets would be a great start if there are dog walking sessions around. would love to here from anybody who would be able to help me out. :) Also i cant seem to upload a picture of them. it says theres not enough space. anyone got any clues?

im also from leeds and have 7 whippets,havent heard of any meetings been held here as theres not that many from this neck of woods.

where abouts in leeds are you? im not too far from the kirkstall area.

to put photos on i and a few others use photobucket as i carnt put photos on any other way.

and welcome to the forum :) . Im from the Bradford area so not too far away, its a shame there isnt a club or anything around here where we can all meet up - it would be great! :thumbsup:
 
hello to all. am already enjoying the site. just trying to work everything out. :D i am from beeston, not that far away from kirkstall or bradford. yes there should be some whippet club from leeds, bradford, So whos up for starting one, i think i might need some more whippets first as everyone seems to have five or more. i have a weeks holiday from the 8th of february, so if anybody would like to take there whippets out with mine. i am sure me and the wife would love to get the dogs to roundhay park or somewhere for run or something. this is just in case anyone is actually interested.

would be good to meet up but i have to be choosy where i let some of mine off,its got to be safe and secure mostly for the girls as their course bred and always have their hunting heads on and disappear asap,we usually end up shouting and whistling them everywhere we go for a good 5/10 mins.

as anyone heard of the kirkstall nature reserve just behind nettos? , its 98% safe with the railway tracks on one side with a 8 foot metal fence down the whole left hand side and to the right is the river aire so they carnt get out onto roads if the disappear, the only downside is theirs deer their and my girls go off looking for them every time,luckily they dont always find them :sweating: .
 
Well we are not sure about netto. but we know where the golf place is and the cinema and stuff. is it anywhere near them? :b

yes the golf course is just at the side of the reserve, if your coming from the abbey towards town you turn right at netto/iceland and go over a bridge ,fitness first is on your left then a football place( carnt remember its name) and the nature reserve is just before the railway bridge.

my hubby hasnt got a holiday until march so would have to be around 3pm any afternoon or where free saturday 14th all day :thumbsup:
 
The 14th of feb will be the best day for us to bring the dogs over, having the whole day to get over is the best thing at the moment. I wonder how many people we can get to come along with there whippets at one time. I dont know how we r going to arrange a particular time as its two weeks away. what do you think?

any times fine by us :thumbsup: suppose we can sort out a time more nearer the date.

wonder if tina (littlenell) can make it.

dont think theres anymore on here that live in leeds so wont be a big turn out of people.

think we need photos of your two,are they girls or boys?

I have a white and brindle one called poppy and a blue one called bo. they are both girls. Bo is the youngest just under a year old and poppy is summat like 14 months old. I got to get photobucket and get some pics on... gonna try as soon as i have finished this. Maggiemay2, if you are free on sat 14th feb. we r gonna meet up for a well what would you call it. A dog walk lol. the more the merrier to me. If you know anyone else who can make it bring them along. I wonder if you can post summat to everyone on k9 about it. right photobucket
 
Suddenly wish that we could live in Leeds, would love to turn up and see everyone with my two girl whippets. Lol. Have a lovely day anyway!

sorry i disappeared last night my power lead as died on my laptop so using hubbys old lappy and its really not up to the job these days :lol:

sarah hope your free for that day would be great to see loads of whippets running free,my boys will be in heaven :- (w00t)

Aw would love to have come - we come over to Leeds quite a bit as my brother-in-law and his family live there. On the 14th they are coming to visit us, not the other way around! Doh! :)
