We met up with Rachel and her two again yesterday and had a lovely walk over the sheep-free fields! All 4 dogs really enjoyed themselves tearing about - got a bit hairy at times but I hid behind Rachel when they went really fast!

Having a good old roll in something nasty :x

Logan? Sorry Rachel, if I get them mixed up. :b

We were a bit worried about the ducks in the distance - well more worried that a flying leap from the whippets would take them straight into the river Severn! (w00t)

Muffin found something else to roll in (but it was Logan who was really smelly!)

Ooh, you smell nice, Muffin. :lol: Muffin managed to get a stick lodged in his collar which looked quite amusing.

The stick gradually worked its way loose.

Jonah was a bit nervous of the other dogs to start with, but by the end he was managing to run and join in a bit more which was nice to see.

Another of my favourites although it's a shame Jonah isn't quite looking in the right direction or standing nicely.

Eagle-eyed Jonah spotted something else and led the chase again. :lol: Look in the top left corner and you'll see what they saw!

We thought at first it was a rabbit, but we think that it might have been a bit big and was most likely a hare. Luckily it had a good start and escaped under the gate into the next field. :sweating:

Awwwww, it got away mum! :teehee:

We're hoping to meet up again on Monday afternoon - it's such a lovely place for the whippets to run - we all really enjoyed ourselves.

That is brilliant that you managed to caputure the hare on camera, it definitely looks too big to be a bunny.

It is definitely our favourite place to walk, it is perfect for whippys

Looks like they all had a great time together in a way that only whippets can. :clown: I wonder if that is the first hare Muffin and Jonah have ever seen. They tend to be white and rarely seen in the High Peak.

It's the first time I've ever seen a hare, Nicola, and I don't think Rachel had seen one before either.

I don't know Graeme - we were wearing boots!! :lol:

I don't think it could have been too bad as, like you say, it didn't seem to bother them, and I didn't notice any cuts on their pads/feet, so I think it must be OK. :thumbsup:

Yes, come to think of it I've ever only seen two hares in my life, a white one on top of the hills near you, and a brown one in Scotland once. It wasn't shy at all and popped out under our noses on a hill walk. Such beautiful creatures, a real thrill to see them.
